Gardaí have renewed their appeal for witnesses following a fatal road traffic collision that claimed the life of a father of two earlier this month.

The appeal has been made in relation to the collision that occurred at Listillion, Letterkenny on Thursday, September 6 at approximately 7.45pm.

A Black Mazda 3 and a Red Toyota Hilux Pick up were involved in the collision.

Investigating gardaí are appealing for witnesses or any drivers or taxi drivers who may have witnessed the collision or either of the cars prior to the fatal crash and those with Dash Cam footage who were on the Letterkenny to Stranorlar Road between 7pm and 8pm on Thursday evening to contact Letterkenny Garda Station at 074-9167100, the Garda Confidential Line 1800 666 111 or any Garda Station.

Local farmer Frances Browne who lived yards from the scene of the collision died the following day in Letterkenny University Hospital.

Henry Kiely (22), of Kilbarry Cottage, Old Mallow Road, Co Cork has been charged with two counts of dangerous driving, failing to remain at the scene of an accident and having no driving license and no insurance.
He was remanded in custody to Castlerea prison and is to appear at Harristown court on September 14.
