Donegal All-Ireland winner to launch Together for Yes campaign

One of the most prominent advocates for the repeal of the Eighth Amendment will be among the speakers who address the launch of the Donegal Together for Yes campaign tomorrow night.
Dr Peter Boylan is Chairman of the Institute of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists and a former master of the National Maternity Hospital.
Donegal Together for Yes will officially launch its campaign for a Yes vote in the May 25th Referendum to repeal the Eighth Amendment at 6pm tomorrow night at Jackson's Hotel, Ballybofey,
The campaign will be launched by Eamon McGee, Donegal GAA All-Ireland winner. Also speaking will be Orla O’Connor, Director of the national Together for Yes campaign; Thomas Pringle TD for Donegal; and Nora Newell, Donegal Together for Yes.
This will be followed by a public information meeting with a panel of experts. As well as Dr Boylan the panel will include Kate O’Connell TD, member of the Joint Oireachtas Committee on the Eighth Amendment, and Dr Anna McHugh, Donegal GP Trainee.
Spokeswoman For Donegal Together For Yes Cathy Shiels said the aim of the launch is two-fold.
“It lets people know that the Yes campaign is really in full swing in Donegal. We have been out canvassing in different parts of the county with volunteers and running stalls every weekend in at least two or three locations,” she said.
“It also lets people know that we are here and inviting people to get involved. This is a massive county and the population is very dispersed and we really need people to join us and help us talk to the communities about what the reality of no abortion means for Donegal women,” she said. “It is an opportunity to get those high-profile speakers up here to Donegal and let people put questions to them.”
