A proposed Greenway from Burtonport to Letterkenny needs to be taken to a new level.
This was the message from Glenties area councillors at last week's meeting of the Municipal District.
The members heard from Charles Sweeney, Area Manager for Community Development that there was no plan in place for the greenway.
“We have developed four walks on the route,” he said
“But we have no plans for anything beyond what has been developed.
Mr Sweeney also told the councillors that a Sustain Report found that a route from Burtonport to Letterkenny had the capacity to become a greenway.
And he also said that while there were obstacles, the time had come to take it to the next level.
Fianna Fail Cllr. Enda Bonner urged Mr Sweeney to bring the message back that the Glenties councillors want the project progressed to next level.
