It's back to the drawing board for Maghery and Magheraroarty coastal erosion issues, Glenties Municipal councillors were informed at their monthly meeting last week.
The members were told by Donegal Coastal Officer, David Friel that the OPW had decided to go back to the drawing board in relation to dealing with the coastal erosion being experienced in the two areas.
“They want us to apply for funding to carry out a survery of Maghery and Magheraroarty and to start afesh,” Mr Friel told the councillors.
Michael McGarvey, Area Director of Water and Enviroment, said he was very disappointed that they had been asked to go back to the drawing board.
Sinn Fein Cllr Marie Therese Gallagher said she got the impression from Minister Boxer Moran that he was keen to do something for Maghery.
