The old fire station in Donegal town which will be demolished
Roads engineer with Donegal Co. Council, Mark Sweeney told the members at this month’s Donegal Municipal District meeting that the old fire station on the Upper Main Street in Donegal Town will be demolished in the very near future,
He said, “This will allow work to commence on the provision of a new car park which will further alleviate car parking problems in the town,
“Our team are presently working on the provision of a footpath out towards Abbots and I would envisage that as soon as that is completed, they will start work on the Fire Station.
Mr. Sweeney also wished it highlighted that increased fines were now applicable for those parking in disabled parking bays without the proper documentation.
“This will not be tolerated - the fine is now €150 and it will be applied to offenders.”
