The woman killed in last night’s fatal road collision in Donegal has been named.

Bernadette Fullerton of Umricam, Buncrana died when she was struck by a car close to her home at 9.15pm on Wednesday.

She will be laid to rest on Saturday following on Saturday following requiem Mass at  St. Mary’s Church, Cockhill at 11am.

She is the fourth person to die on Donegal roads this year.

It has emerged that gardaí took her from the road to a house in the locality about half an hour before she was killed after being alerted to a woman on the road. The Garda Ombudsman is investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
