Donegal editor pays tribute to the late Austin Hunter

The late Austin Hunter who was from Strabane

Tributes have been paid to the BBC Journalist and PR consultant Austin Hunter, who died in Bahrain on Saturday.
The 64-year-old father of two was knocked down in a road crash while on a business trip to the Middle East.
A native of Strabane, he started his career at the Strabane Weekly News, Tyrone Constitution and BBC Radio Foyle.
He went on become editor of the News Letter in Belfast, a journalist and PR specialist with the BBC, and head of communications for the RUC/PSNI.
Pat McArt, former Group Editor of the Derry Journal and a columnist with the Donegal Democrat, said "I first met him in the early 1970's at a council meeting in Lifford. He was a gentleman. It's hard to believe such a decent human being is gone."
He offered his deepest sympathies to the Hunter family.
