Donegal's Ryan family make semi-finals

The Ryan family.

The Ryan family from Kilmacrennan have made it to the semi-finals of RTE’s “Ireland’s Fittest Family”.

They competed with two other families and battled through another tough show that aired on Sunday night to secure the semifinal berth.

A mix of fitness, strength and tactics helped them to edge past the Broadhurst and McCarthy families.

The popular programme sees families throw themselves at some of the most challenging obstacle courses and terrains in the country, in the quest to be crowned Ireland’s fittest family and take home the €15,000 cash prize.

Father Danny, a former champion boxer, along with Keane (22), Jordan (17), and Alanna (16) put on another impressive performance coached by Irish rugby legend, Alan Quinlan.

Episode 6 of Ireland’s Fittest Family is on at 6.30pm on RTÉ One.
