A tree which fell across the main road (the R267) from Donegal Town leading to Ballyshannon caused considerable traffic delays this afternoon.
The large tree which was located approximately 200 metres from the Abbey Vocational School on the Ballyshannon side all but blocked the road.
Gardai and County Council workers arrived swiftly on the scene and put their traffic management plan into operation easing the delay.
The road is open but one can expect delays. Gardaí have also asked the public to exercise caution.
Our photo shows the scene a short time ago.
