Hundreds of second-level and mature applicants turned up at LYIT’s information events on Letterkenny and Killybegs campuses.
One of the key events in the Letterkenny Institute of Technology (LYIT) academic calendar is its Course Information Day. This took place on Wednesday last (24/8/16) on the Letterkenny and Killybegs campuses, and hundreds of potential students took the opportunity to find out more about what’s on offer at LYIT.
The college offers a wide range of part-time and full-time courses in Science; Nursing, Childcare and Social Care; Computing; Tourism, Hospitality, Culinary Arts and Food Technology; Humanities, Law, Languages and Sport; Engineering; Business; and Design.
Academic and Admissions staff were on hand to provide detailed course information and answer CAO queries, whilst the Students’ Union and Students Service staff were available to help with a range of accommodation, access, careers and health services enquiries. Potential students and their parents/companions were also able to explore the facilities and view the lecture rooms, laboratories, library, and sports facilities so that they could gain a sense of the LYIT campuses.
Paul Hannigan, President, commented, “We were delighted with the level of interest. It’s often confusing and difficult for applicants to decide on the course options which are best suited to them. However, Course Information Day gives them a perfect opportunity to discuss courses with academic staff and a chance to view our facilities.”
LYIT has Available Places on a number of courses and these can be accessed on www.cao.ie. Students who have already accepted a place at LYIT can find information on Registration, Induction, and Class Commencement on the LYIT website, www.lyit.ie.
