Ladies Training will start back on Friday January 23rd at Deele College Raphoe at 8 pm.


There was no jackpot winner this week. The winning numbers were 7, 10, 19, 20. The €50 runner-up prize goes to Eddie Alfie. Next week’s jackpot will be €7,200.

The club dinner dance will take place in the Redcastle Hotel this Saturday 24th January. Adult tickets are €25 and U16 tickets are €12.50. Tickets are available from any committee member.

Underage training was cancelled last Saturday due to adverse weather conditions but will return next Saturday. For future reference the times are as follows: Toddlers, U-6s and U8s boys and girls from 10am-11am. U-10 boys from 11-12 and U10 and U12 girls from 11-12. The under 16 boys and minors also train on a Saturday at 11am. U12 boys training takes place on Wednesday evenings from 7 – 8pm and will not resume on January 28th. All new children welcome.

Club membership is now open for anyone who wishes to sign up: Juveniles €5, student €10, adult €20, family (up to 18 years) €30 and family with lotto for a year €100. County Board levies must be paid before end of January so important that all memberships are paid before that time.

Anyone willing to coach at end level within the club needs to complete a New Garda

vetting form regardless if they have already completed one last year. There are new

procedures and stringent guidelines as to how to complete the form.

A foundation coaching award will take place in Urris clubhouse Febuary 6/7. Anyone

The GAA has launched a National Club Draw as a fundraiser for local clubs, with the draw taking place on 27 February 2015. Prizes are being provided by GAA Central Council. The proceeds from all tickets sold by Naomh Colmcille will go directly to Naomh Colmcille, and will be used towards the club’s 2015 yearly expenditure. First prize is a trip with the 2015 All-Stars. In addition, the County Board are putting up county also putting up prizes (1 x €1000, 2 x €500, 5 x €100) so local winners are guaranteed. Tickets priced €10 each are now available from Alison Ferry, Paul Callaghan, Adrian Marsh, or any committee member.

Registrations are now open to all senior players (€50), junior players (€10), adult members (€25) and families (€50). Contact Mark Ferry (087 9154559).

The club Constitution is now available to view on the website. The agm will now be held on Wednesday 28th January at 8:00 pm in the clubhouse. Anyone with any amendments must have them in writing to the Secretary 14 days prior to the meeting. The only amendment changes dealt with on the night will be the ones that have been received in writing.

Any person currently coaching or intending to coach any age group are asked to make an effort to attend a coaching course this year. Courses run from the end of January up to March. Everyone must have a minimum of the Foundation and child protection courses. Please let Barry O’Hagan or Gerard McFadden know if you will participate by the end of next week. A Child Protection Course will be held in the Clubhouse, Straid on Friday January 30th and the Foundation Course takes place the following day in Straid (Saturday 31st). We had no winners in the local lotto draw and the numbers drawn were 2-13-16-22. Next weeks Jackpot is €2100, so a lot of money is up for grabs on a Friday night in St Marys Hall.

Rehearsals are continuing for the Scor Sinnsir competition which takes place in Glenfin on Fri night the 30th January. It is hoped to have Club entrants in at least five sections of the competition and hopefully these contestants will receive good support from the club area on the night. Scor organiser Sean Killen deserves great credit for the effort he has put into the revival of Scor in Robert Emmetts. The National draw tickets, which are in circulation and of which all monies raised go into Club funds, should be returned to Club officers by this Fri 23rd. With an excellent array of valuable and attractive prizes, this draw is very good value for the money and is a great opportunity to win a fantastic prize and at the same time support the club. The Club extends sympathy to the Harvey Family, Shanvalley on the death of Mary Harvey. May she rest in Peace.

The Dinner Dance was held in the club on Saturday night . It was great to see the club packed with members, young and old, all showing their moves on the dance floor. There was no lotto draw last week as bingo was cancelled due to the bad weather.

The club held a Suicide Awareness – ‘SafeTALK’ course in the club house and it was presented by Bill Vaughan. The club would like to thank Bill who gave the course and also thank the members who attended on the night.

Due to the severe weather conditions last week training for the underage hurling and ladies football had to be postponed. The club would like to wish the U14 hurlers all the best as they prepare for the U14 indoor Ulster Competition in the coming weeks.


The Bord na nÓg committee was elected on Monday night last. Chairperson - Ronan Mc Callig; vice-chair - Donal McGuinness; secretary - Elaine Steele; ass-secretary - Charlotte Carey, registrar - Kathleen Breslin, executive members - Kevin Boyle, John O’Sé, Seamus McGinley.

The first meeting of Bord na nÓg takes place on Monday 26th clubhouse. Team members for u-8, u-10, u-12, u-13, u-14, u-16 and u-18 will be selected on the night. All interested in helping out the underage structure of the club should attend this meeting.

There was no winner of the Royal Flush Jackpot. numbers drawn were 2,7,20,24.

Consolation prizes went to Liam Moran, Brenter, Donal Kelly and Roy Adair. Jackpot next week is €720.

The club’s monthly 25 card drive held a very successful competition in Mary Murrin’s on Saturday in aid of Cancer Care Bus to Galway. €2300 was raised on the night. Credit to all involved, especially club members Cathal Byrne, John James Breslin, Steven Murrin and Poilín Byrne for their expertise and to Jo and Des in Mary Murrin’s for their hospitality and all those who donated sport prizes and gave donations. Finally thanks to all those card players from near and far who travelled on the night.

At the last monthly meeting Seamus Harvey was elected as Club Treasurer. John Boyle and Michael Mc Glynn volunteered for the financial committee. There will be a senior players and team management meeting in the clubhouse on Saturday 24th attend this meeting.

St Stephens Day sponsored swim cards should now be returned to the treasurer.


The first club executive meeting of the year takes place this Thursday, 29nd January at 8.30pm in Aras Aoidh Ruaidh. All members of the club executive are asked to attend.

Indoor training resumes this Friday 23rd January for under 6s under 8s under 10s and under 12s. There is a charge of €2 per head. Members selling tickets for the National Club draw are asked to return them to Diarmaid Keon or Emma Gaughan before this coming Wednesday, 21st January.

Thanks are due to all those who worked hard over the past few days to prepare Fr Tierney Park for Sunday’s Bank of Ireland McKenna cup game between Donegal and Fermanagh at such short notice.

A schedule for coaching workshops and courses in January and February has been released by Donegal GAA.

Charlie Byrne from Malin, GAA County Coach, will be starting coaching in primary schools this coming week.

Ulster Club league fixtures have been released and Malin will compete in section B, along with Eglish, Donaghmore Bryansford, Ballinderry, Lavey and St Eunan’s. The competition will get underway in early February.

Training for under 10/8 and 6 girls will resume on Saturday the 24th of Feb from 11 to 12. 30

With the increase of children registering at underage level, the financial cost of running Bord Na nOg has increased significantly over last number of years.

There is an anti-bullying course for all team managers and coaches on Friday 30th at 8pm in Donegal Town. Places are limited on this course, text Mary Canavan (0868814608) to secure a place. The club will be hosting a child protection course on Friday February 6th in the Education Centre (above Dom’s Pier 1). The virtual sod fundraiser is ongoing in the club with lots of members signing up so far. The cost of the virtual sod is €20 with all people signed up receiving a certificate and their name going on a large wall display in Tir Conaill. The annual presentation dinner dance takes place this Friday, 23rd January in the Mount Errigal Hotel at 7.30pm. Registrations for 2015 will take place on Saturday 7th February from 2pm to 4pm in the meeting room of the Church of the Irish Martyrs.

We are running Circuit Training for female club members from 14 years and older in Woodland NS starting Wednesday, 28th January from 7.30pm - 8.30pm at €2 per person.

The GAA National draw tickets are now on sale and can be purchased from any club member. This is a great fundraiser for the club as all proceeds from the sale of these tickets stays with the club.

We are pleased to announce the resumption of our underage spring indoor training programme for Football, hurling and camogie.

Underage football coaching will resume on Friday 6th February for U-6 (6-6.45pm) & U-8 (6.45-7.30pm) in the hall at Woodlands School & U-10 & U-12 is in the Aura from 7.30-8.30pm.

After the huge success of last years event the ‘Healthy Club Day’ returns for a second year. The event will take place from 10am to 2pm at the Public Services Centre in Milford. The club will also be providing information on what is available regarding Gaelic Games in the Milford, Rathmullan and Ramelton areas

Registration for anyone interested in playing for the Club in 2015 from under 18 downwards are asked to attend our Underage Registration Night in the Clubhouse, on Friday 6th February at 6pm.

A reminder to all members the first round of Scor Sinsear takes place in Gortahork parish hall on Saturday 31st January. Also if anyone would like to volunteer to help at the county final in Ramelton Town Hall on Fri 6th February, please give Brendan a call.
