Aodh Ruadh extended their unbeaten league run to seven games in Buncrana, but it required some late heroics from Diarmaid McInerney to secure the points.

Aodh Ruadh have one of their biggest games of the season to date this Sunday when they host promotion rivals Milford in Father Tierney Park. The senior game throws in at 3pm and is preceded by the reserves at 1.30pm.

Our sincere condolences to U-10 coach James Bradshaw on the untimely passing of his brother Stephen. Our thoughts are with the family at this time.

Aodh Ruadh Summer Camp 2015 runs on Monday 6th July-10th July and Monday 13th July-17th July. The camp runs from 10am to 3pm daily. Each week the camp will cater for all ages from 6 to 14, both BOYS and GIRLS. Activities include skills training, fun and games, Gaelic football, camogie, rounders, hurling and swimming. Applicants should bring a packed lunch as no one will be allowed to leave camp during the day. The camp runs from 10am to 3pm. Reunion for 1990 Community Games champions

There will be a reunion on Saturday 29th August in Bridgend Bar for the 1990 Donegal and All-Ireland winning Community Games team of Aodh Ruadh. The team who won the county title that year were Stephen Ward, Paul Rafferty, Kenneth McGurren, Martin Gallagher, Sean Maguire, Anthony Sheerin, Gavin Rogers, David Greene, James Shannon, Brendan Boyle, Dermot Fox, David Hoey, Sean Perry, Matthew Hughes, Christy Coughlin, Barry Travers and Jamie McCauley. There was no winner of last week’s Aodh Ruadh Lotto jackpot of €6,200. The winning numbers drawn were 7, 8, 9, 12, 13 and 17. Cloughaneely GAA are doing a house to house clothes collection in the Falcarragh area next week and Gortahork the following week. There will be a bag drop Monday 29th of June. Any unwanted clothes, bedding, curtains, shoes etc you would like to donate to the club can be put into the bag and we can have these clothes recycled to raise much needed funds for the running of the club. Please leave the bags out for collection a week later on Monday 6th July.

A 5K fun run will be held in the GAA club on July 1st at 7.30pm. Registration will begin from 6.30pm. 3 euros per child, 5 euros per adult.

Congratulations to our Donegal Ladies U-21 team who were crowned All-Ireland Champions at the weekend when they defeated Longford 4-12 to 2-07! A special mention to our own Roisín Ní Chuireáin and Evelyn McGinley, who are part of this first ever Donegal Ladies U-21 team! Great achievement in their first year together! Maith Sibh!

Thanks to Maurice McBride, Gweedore who made sure the blitz ran smoothly, also to the tea ladies for the refreshments afterwards. Best wishes to all the schools, teachers, boys and girls for the school holidays ahead, and thanks to all the principals and teachers for all their help and support during the past school year 2014- 2015.

There may be a change to the date for our Cúl Camp. This is in order to facilitate those who wish to attend a soccer camp which takes place the same week. The camp will most likely take place the second week in August, but watch this space for updates please.

The Under 12’s have a busy end to their season, firstly they play their final league game of the season on Wednesday at 6.30pm against Naomh Conaill in Glenties. Then on Saturday its off to Clones to watch Donegal v Derry in the Ulster Football Championship. They play Lisnaskea Emments Under 12’s in Lisnaskea at 3pm before travelling on to Clones. We hope they have a great trip.


Annual subscriptions for the lotto (€100) should be made on or before June 29th to be entered into the end of year draw for prizes totaling €1,500. The draw will take place on Monday June 29th in the Abbey Hotel at 9pm. All members welcome to attend. There was no winner of the Lotto Jackpot of €1,300 in Week 48 of the 2014/2015 season draw held in the Abbey Hotel on Monday June 15th.

The 2015 coaching academy for 4-7 year olds boys and girls continues this Saturday morning (11am to 12:30pm) in Tir Conaill Park with great numbers attending each week. Thanks goes to all the coaches, volunteers, parents, and players that help out each week. All parents and children are asked to be in Tir Conaill for 10:45pm so coaching can start on time. Well done to the U8 boys from the academy who playted in the U8 blitz on Saturday morning. New children and parents are always welcome to attend. Helpers are required each week for the car park, tea room, collecting money, coaching, setting up and clearing up afterwards.

Frank Muldoon Memorial Golf Competition

The 21st Annual Four Masters G.A.A. Club / Frank Muldoon Memorial Golf Competition will take place at Murvagh Golf Club on Saturday 11th July an open Singles Stableford Competition. Four Masters Club Chairman Eamonn Gorrell welcomed everyone to the launch especially Rory Gallagher Donegal Senior Football Manager, Karl Lacey Donegal Senior Footballer, Kevin Kearns Manager Centra / Rooney’s who are the main sponsor’s of the event. Eamonn stated “we are looking forward to this fundraiser and a very good day’s golf and social event on Saturday 11th July and hopefully existing members and past members of the club will take part on the day.” He thanked Murvagh Golf Club for their assistance on staging this event again and Centra / Rooney’s for their sponsorship. Applications for the Dermot Early Youth leadership are now open until July 5th. This initiative aims to teach young GAA players several new skills in a fun environment. Four Masters and Aodh Ruadh are only two clubs to host this initiative in Donegal. Any TY students in the AVS this September would be ideal candidates for this programme. It involves a number of workshops, practical experience and a trip to Croke Park.

Congratulations to Gemma Glackin and Karen Ward who were members of the Donegal Ladies U-21 team who beat Longford in the All-Ireland Final on Sunday in Sligo. Well done girls!!

The Club would like to wish our own Frank McGlynn the best of luck on Saturday in the Ulster Semi-Final against Derry! We hope his and the county success will continue for the coming summer.


The Malin Gaa annual summer camp will take place from Monday the 13th -17th of July. Leaflets wil be given out this week to all children at primary school. The camp is open to all 5-13 year olds, boys and girls. A bus will be provided for the week throughout the parish. Anyone looking for more information regarding the camp should contact Maria McLaughlin (F) on 0877763679. The form HAS to be returned this year by the 6th of July as county board has to have numbers before the starting date.

Congratulations to our under 12 boys team who won the Maurice McMenamin cup on Sunday evening. The team is managed by Liam O’Neill, Liam Laffery, John McLaughlin, Seamus McLaughlin and Eamon Ward so a big thank you from the club for the effort they have put into this team and well done to all the players involved.

The under 14’s drew against Carndonagh on Friday night in the Inishowen semi-final and now play at home in the replay at 6.30 on Tuesday in Connolly Park.

Malin under 16’s are back in action this Friday in the semifinals of the Darren Downey/Gary McLaughlin Cup at 7.00pm against an as yet unknown opposition as quarter finals due to be played on Tuesday.

The u12’s play against Buncrana on Wednesday at 5.00pm in Connolly Park. The u14’s play against Convoy on Tuesday at 6.30 in Connoly Park, training as normal on Wednesday. The u10’s and u8’s continue to train on Saturdays.

Naomh Muire will host a Cúl Camp in the Banks from 13th - 17th July. The camp is for primary school children aged 6 to 13 years and will run from 10:00am to 2:30pm each day. Full details on how to register will be available on our club website, Facebook and Twitter later this week.

Tickets for the Donegal match will be available for collection in the clubhouse on Wednesday evening between 6:30pm and 7:30pm.

There will be a bus running for the Donegal v Derry match on Saturday June 27th in Clones. The minor match is at 5pm with the senior game at 7pm. The bus will leave the car park in Annagry at 1pm. Our U14 Girls are through to the county semi-final after beating Four Masters in the quarter final in Donegal Town on Tuesday 16th June. The semi-final will take place at the Bridge, Dunfanaghy on Tues 23rd June at 5.30pm against Fanad Gaels.

Our Minor Girls make the short journey to Machaire Gathlán to play Gaoth Dobhair in the Donegal minor championship on Thursday 26th June at 7pm.

Congratulations to the Donegal U-21 ladies team on their victory in the All Ireland B (Aishling McGing cup) and to the Donegal Senior Ladies on their first round victory against Down in the Ulster Senior Championship. Next up on the Inter county scene will be the All Ireland U-14 Final, Donegal v Tipperary in Pearse park Longford in which our own Saoirse Bonner will be playing for Donegal.

The senior and reserve teams traveled to Mountcharles on Sunday for the latest round of the league. It was a day of mixed fortunes where the reserves had another impressive win and the seniors lost out narrowly to St Nauls. The reserve result was Naomh Náille 0-10 Naomh Muire 2-08 while the seniors lost out by a point on a scoreline of Naomh Náille 0-10 Naomh Muire 0-09.

There will be a coaching session for goalkeepers this Wednesday night (24th) in the Banks at 7pm. This is for all goalkeepers from U-14s to adult. It will be run by Declan Martin who took part in the Ulster Council Goalkeeper workshops. It aims to help young keepers in these age groups. Can all underage coaches ensure that goalkeepers are aware of this session.


The senior ladies begin there championship campaign against Glenfin next Sunday morning at home 11am throw in.

The senior men and senior reserve side are both away to Lifford on Sunday evening throw in 3pm.

The Joe McGeady annual inishowen cup final on Sunday evening in Moville.

A massive congrats to Davy McLaughlin who had double success who’s senior ladies team won their first game in the ulster championship against Down on Saturday and to the under 21 team who defeated Longford in the all Ireland final in Sligo last Sunday.


The senior team had an excellent win at the weekend as lifford were the visitors to Dooey. A busy weekend this weekend as the lads travel to play convoy on Friday night and then host muff on Sunday afternoon. Times to be confirmed at training.

The under 12 team defeated Naomh Columba last Friday evening and now wait and see who they play in the shield final. Fixture to be confirmed in the coming days.

The club extends its best wishes to Declan, Sean and the county minor squad as they attempt to qualify for the ulster final when they take on Derry in the semi final this Saturday evening in Clones. Good luck from all at the club.

Also wishing Rory and the senior team all the best in making the ulster final as they also play Derry in their respective semi final.

Caolan Melaugh Fund: The club would like to thank everyone who helped out in any way to make the walkathon a fantastic and memorable event. People travelled from all over the county and further afield to show their support for Caolan. It was amazing and uplifting to see so many people turning out over the 24 hours. The amount raised will be announced in the next few days.

Well done also to Eimear Gallagher who got 12 inches cut off her hair and raised €520 so far with some more sponsorship still coming in.


Last weekend was a momentous one in the history of our club as we secured two All Ireland Club Titles in one day last Sunday.

Our brilliant U-14 Hurling and Camogie teams both secured National Féile Shield All Ireland titles, representing the club with great distinction over the weekend. Many congratulations to the players, management, mentors and parents of both teams on a truly magnificent achievement. This achievement is testament to the unbelievable amount of work our Academy and Underage Coaches have put in with our children over the last number of years.

We also acted as a host Club over the weekend and many thanks to everyone who assisted the Club in organising a hugely successful festival of games and social activities, particularly all our sponsors.

Congratulations also to our seven girls on the Donegal Ladies U-21 panel, Kaneshia Mc Kinney, Rose Boyle, Lauren O’Connell, Sadhbha Medlar, Sinead Hession, Clodagh Brennan and Lauren Harper who were all part of the panel that secured an historic first ever All Ireland title for the County at this level. Huge congratulations also to Alan O’Connell and John Hession who were part of the management team.

Well done to our girls on the Donegal Ladies team who won their Ulster SFC match over Down on Saturday.

Best wishes to our U-14 Boys and Girls Footballers and their management teams who travel to Wexford/Wicklow this weekend to represent St. Eunan’s and Donegal in the All Ireland Féile Football competitions.

The Reserve Footballers defeated Naomh Conaill 3-12 to 4-05 on Sunday.

The Junior Footballers suffered their first Div. 5 defeat on Saturday evening going down narrowly to Ardara, 1-8 to 0-9.

The Minor Boys open their championship campaign on Monday June 29th at home to Gaoth Dobhair, throw in 7.30pm.

The U-12 Development team had a narrow defeat to MacCumhaill’s last week and are away to Letterkenny Gaels this week.

Both teams were at home to Kilcar on Sunday last. The seniors made a very good second half comeback in this top of the table clash to win on a scoreline of St. Michael’s 2-11 Kilcar 0-10.

The reserves were defeated on a scoreline of St. Michaels 1-6 Kilcar 1-8.

Club Gear

There was no Jackpot winner in the St. Michael’s Mini Lotto on Sunday night last; The numbers drawn were 2,3,6,12,13,16. The Match 5 winners were Seamus McGee Falcarragh, Peggy Roarty Creeslough, Peter O’Donnell Pound Street Dunfanaghy and Marcela Dolan Ards Creeslough who won € 25 each. This weeks Jackpot be €5150. The €150 on the snowball game at the Bingo session on Sunday night last was won by Mary Cullen Kill Dunfanaghy. The winner of the Door Prize of was Mary Ferry Murroe who took a Bingo book and three lotto tickets. This weeks Snowball will be €800.

Lotto Rota

The St. Michael’s Lotto Rota for this week is as follows: 27th June Dunfanaghy Martin McGarvey and Rose O’Reilly, Creeslough Ollie Rodden. Anyone who is unable to carry out this very important job for the club is asked to get a replacement on the night.


St. Michael’s GAA Club is once again hosting the Runegal 10K around Hornhead on Saturday the 11th July at 11am with registration at the Clubhouse from 9.30am. This year there is the option of a 5K as well. The entry fee is €10 or €5 for under 16’s and shower facilities are available, everyone is welcome.

St. Michaels Minor Board

The U- 8’s have a blitz on Saturday 27th June in Castlefin at the earlier time of 11am, so we will be back in time for anyone travelling to Clones.

The bus will leave The Bridge at 9.45am, Creeslough at 10am.

The U-12’s are scheduled to play away to Glenswilly on Wednesday July 1st. Training will now run on a Friday evening only from 6pm-7.30pm. Full attendance needed.

The Minors are away to Malin in the Minor A Championship on Monday 29th June at 7.30pm The Club extends deepest sympathy to Paddy Coll on the death of his sister Rosemary Walsh Galway and formerly Station Road Falcarragh recently. Sympathy is also extended to the entire family circle.
