Naomh Columba deservingly took the U15 Comórtas Peile na Gaeltachta title on Monday with what was one of the performances of the weekend in victory over Gaoth Dobhair.

Naomh Columba flew out of the blocks in the opening quarter and raced into a 0-7 to 0-0 lead. The midfield pairing of Fionn Gallagher and Lanty Molloy sailed the first two scores of the match over from out the field while Aaron Doherty added a trio of points including a super clip from a 35m free.
By half-time with Doherty and Molloy in scoring form, they were 0-13 to 0-1 ahead.
Gaoth Dobhair pulled another one back at the beginning of the second period when Ethan Harkin chipped over a close range free. Dillon Kelly fired back up the other end before Aaron Doherty took his tally out to eight for the day with another smart over.
Naomh Columba’s dominance continued as Lanty Molloy ploughed through the middle once again to rattle in a Glen three-pointer to stretch his side’s lead to 16 on a difference of 1-15 to 0-2. As the game drifted into its last quarter, there was no let off as additional points from Ronan Gillespie (2), Molloy, Eric Carr (2), Aidan McGinley, Doherty and Fionn Gallagher (2) were all added while Aaron Doherty also rolled in a second three-pointer for the winners right before the end.
