The seniors and reserves play Naomh Brid at home this Sunday 28th September in the first championship game of 2014. A night with a difference, Crazy Vegas Fun Casino Night, sounds flash but it’s really just a great night’s craic for all the family, more details later.
The Donegal senior championship begins this weekend and our senior and reserves teams are at home to Bundoran with the throw ins at 5pm and 6.30pm.
There was no Jackpot winner in the St Michael’s Mini Lotto on Sunday night. The numbers drawn were 1,2,3,5,8,16; the Match 5 winners were Michael Martin, Bonner and Amy Griffin, Creeslough. This weeks jackpot will be €6700.
Congratulations to Margaret Ann O’Reilly, Ards who won the two All Ireland finals in the draw organised by the club. The draw was made in the clubhouse on Friday evening last by Madge Gallagher, Devlin and Anthony Browne Devlin. The club would like to thank everyone who supported the draw and all the businesses in the Creeslough and Dunfanaghy areas who allowed us to sell cards in their premises and everyone who helped in any way to make it so successful. Well done to the St. Michaels under 13s who beat Malin last week.
The Senior and Reserve championships are scheduled to get underway this Sunday and our teams face a tricky trip to Malin in their opening games.
The U16 hurlers created history last Thursday night in Convoy when they defeated their arch-rivals, Buncrana in the county A final on a score of 3-9 to 0-16. It marked the club’s first ever U16 A title and also the first time the lads managed to beat a very strong Buncrana team. It was an excellent team performance on the night where no quarter was asked or given and Man of the Match went to Niall O’Donnell who bagged a very impressive 2-9 with his younger brother Shane getting the other goal!
The U16 girl’s footballers will take on Moville this Thursday (25th) in Buncrana under lights with an 8 pm throw-in. The two teams met a few weeks ago in the group stages with our girls winning a very close contest, please get down to Scarvey to support them this Thursday.
The U16 Boys footballers await the results of Tuesday night’s games to discover who they will face in the Northern Championship semi-finals this Friday night (26th). Keep an eye on social media for updates of time, venue and opposition. The U16 Development team are scheduled to play Red Hugh’s at home in the Shield on Friday as well.
The U13 boys have qualified for the Northern Final and await results from other games to see who they will face. T
We will host the County Senior Hurling Final between Burt and MacCumhaills this Saturday at 3 pm any available stewards please be at the park for 2pm.
The U14 Girls travel to the Kilmacud 7-a-side this Saturday (27th). Best of luck to the girls, enjoy the day.
It is likely the Minor football championship will be delayed until the Senior championship group stages are completed at the very least, keep up with social media for updates.

Our U-13 team continued on their winning ways with 0-8 to 2-23 victory overTermon on Wednesday evening last.
The seniors and reserves are in championship action this Sunday in Glenswilly. We hope to see the usual large following in this first group match; reserves are on at 1:30 pm and seniors at 3pm.
The Under 16s host Bundoran in the division 2 championship semi-final on Saturday with the second match on Saturday 4th October.
There was no winner of the Club Lotto Jackpot so next week’s Jackpot is €7,200 this week’s numbers were 3, 7, 10 and 16 winners were: €50 Catherine and Deirbhile McShane (Kilcausey) €30 Brid Gallagher (Bogagh) and €20 Fergal O’Gara (Muckross). Lotto Plus numbers 1, 17, 23 and 24 there was no winner.
The next club meeting will be held on Monday September 29th at 9 pm. A new initiative by the club will take place this Saturday morning September 27th, In conjunction with Olympians A.C Athletics will commence for children of seven and older. This is a fantastic opportunity for our children to get involved in a new sport. The initiative is spearheaded by Martin O’Donnell who has vast experience in the track and field area. Children between 7 and 10 are on from 10.30 am to 11.30am and 11years and older are from 11.30 am to 1pm. Each child are asked to bring €1 with them and all are welcome. Next Sunday is the start of the County Championship and Kilcar are the visitors, Throw in is 1.30 pm. for the Reserves and 3pm for the Seniors
Finally, hard luck to our three county men Michael,Neil and Cormac it didn’t happen on the day for both teams but nonetheless they have brought us on a fantastic journey and there is no doubt they have done us all proud.
The club would like to congratulate Ciaran Diver and Tony McClenaghan who played in this all Ireland minor final. It is not every day that players can set foot on the turf at Croke Park on the final championship Sunday of the year. It was a proud day for Moville GAA to have two such talented youngsters playing last Sunday. They are a credit to their families, to their club and to their community.
The club hosted an ‘Up for the Match’ style debate in Caiseal Mara Hotel last Thursday night. Special guests included referee Pat McEnaney, 1992 All Star and All-Ireland winning full back Matt Gallagher and journalist Damien Dowds. The debate was chaired by our very own Judge Sean MacBride.
Congratulations to Paul McLaughlin of Ballynally who won the door prize of an All-Ireland final ticket, Paul enjoyed his first taste of Croke Park on Sunday.
Moville senior men will play Naomh Ultan in the Junior A Championship semi-final on Saturday night.
There was no jackpot winner this week. The winning numbers were 16, 18, 22, 23. The €50 runner-up prize goes to Sean McDermott, Bredagh, Glen. Next week’s jackpot will be €5,500. Thank you for your continued support. We would like to appeal for more Lotto sellers as it is out main source of income.
Well done to Moville senior men’s team who took part in an all-Ireland mini 7s competition in Killmacud Crokes last Saturday. They progressed to the Cup competition after finishing second in their group with wins against Errigal Ciaran of Tyrone and Sean McDermot’s of Birmingham. They were defeated by Emyvale in the last 16 by four points.

Scor is a competition for those under 17years on the 1st January 2015. The competition consists of different sections which are as follows. Ceili or Figure Dancing, Solo singing, Instrumental Music, Recitation/Storytelling, Ballad Group, Novelty Act, Quiz and Set Dancing.
The Four Masters GAA club will give every support to any group or individual wishing to partake in Scor. The first round will be held in Glenfin on the weekend of 7th/8th November. Anyone interested can contact Ann McGonagle Meehan on 0876215513
The under 10s have received an invitation to take part in Melvin Gaels end of year tournament this coming Saturday. Play gets under way in Kinlough at 12 noon and players are to assemble at Father Tierney Park for 11 am ahead of travelling to the blitz.
The last under 8 training session of the year takes place this Friday in Páirc Aoidh Ruaidh at 6.30pm. The last action of the season for the under 8s will be a blitz in Father Tierney Park on Saturday 4th October with Corofin visiting Ballyshannon.
Things were quiet on the hurling field this week, with the only action being a number of challenge games for the under 8s against Erne Gaels in Father Tierney Park on Saturday morning.
The annual under 12 Aodh Ó Dálaigh tournament takes place this Sunday. Inaugurated in 1982, this is always a great day’s hurling. Easkey are going for a four-in-a-row, while Tuam are back to defend their Primary Shield. The action gets underway at 11am.
The lotto rota for the year has finished and a big thanks is due to the 60 people who took part. A new rota is now being put together for the coming year and it is hoped to repeat last year’s approach and everyone’s support would once again be much appreciated.
Aodh Ruadh Bord na nÓg are launching our first annual fund-raising run. The date for your diaries is Sunday October 12th with route details to follow shortly.

The seniors and reserve teams are playing Gaoth Dobhair this Saturday at home at 5pm and 6.30pm in the first game of the championship.
After the disappointment in Croker last Sunday, we would like to congratulate both county teams for their achievements this year,especially our own Paddy Byrne. Everyone in the club was very proud to see him in Croke Park on Sunday. The senior team is due to start their championship journey this weekend away to Carndonagh.
The U16s had a mixed week, starting last Monday with a great win over Killybegs in the championship play off game. They then met Killybegs once again, on Friday night under lights in Ardara. This time the Divisional league title was up for grabs, but our lads came up short after extra time. A terrific team effort over both games ensured that their year will continue for another while yet.
The parish league will continue this Thursday evening and after last week’s fantastic football, all the teams still can finish on top. The U13 girls team were unlucky to be beaten by a strong Killybegs side last Tuesday in Pairc na nGael.
The senior ladies played Convoy on Thursday evening last in the second leg of the championship. They ran out easy winners against a very under strength Convoy.
The U13s girls played Glenswilly at home on Friday. They won 6-3 to Glenswilly’s 5-6. The U-13 boys travelled to Urris last Wednesday evening. They suffered defeat against a much stronger Urris side. But to their credit the young lads never gave up until the final whistle. The final score was Red Hughs 1-8, Urris 5-18.
Congratulation to Stephen McMenamin on getting his place in the starting line up in the All Ireland Minor Final on Sunday. It was a proud day for the club and Stephen’s family. Unfortunately the results on the day did not go our way. But one thing is for sure we will be back.

The Sean McDaid Memorial cup will take place on Saturday 27th September. This will be a four-team blitz with our neighbours Burt, Glenswilly and Letterkenny Gaels.

The club is delighted to announce the official opening of our new Clubhouse in Straid on Sunday (September 28th). Our underage members, U8 and U10 teams will begin the day’s events by parading out from Centra, Clonmany with the Muff Accordion Band to the Club’s ground at 12.30pm At 2.00pm there will be a Ladies challenge match. The blessing and Official Opening of the clubhouse is planned for 3 pm with Mairtin MacAibhne, President of the Ulster GAA Council performing the Official Opening. Following the Official opening and blessing the senior men will play Letterkenny Gaels in a challenge match.
Donations of home baking will be greatly appreciated by the club for the opening on Sunday, if you can help please let any committee member know.
