The U-21s squad played Gaoth Dobhair in the senior league on Sunday and put in a gallant effort, but lost. There were good displays from Patrick Reid and Dillon Muldoon at midfield. Ryan Haughey was busy in goals and made some very good saves and the defence never gave up, led by captain John Boyle and Shane Cannon, who can be satisfied with his display at full-back. Ciaran Cornyn put in a good hour playing at midfield, defence and full forward and probably scored the best long range point of the game. In the forward area Joe Ruck did well. This squad is now looking forward to the U21 championship quarter-final clash with Buncrana.

Hard luck to the under 16s who were narrowly defeated by St Bridget’s from Antrim, in the Ulster semi final in Dromore on Saturday. Final score St Bridget’s 1-7, St Michael’s 0-7.
St. Michael’s got off to a bad start conceding a very unlucky goal in the first few minutes and trailed at half time by 1-5 to 0-2. In the final Aodh Ruadh had enough hunger and football skill to put the final game beyond a quality Dromore side. The minor lads were defeated in the semi final of the championship on Friday evening in Buncrana. The lads got off to a slow start and were trailing by 1-2 to 0-1 after 10 minutes. The Buncrana lads were playing a sweeper and the Reds found it hard to break through a very tight defensive unit. Wayward passes and missed chances in the first half was the story for the Cross boys. The half time score was Red Hughs 0-3, Buncrana 1-5
The second half seen the Red Hughs boys put in a much better performance. The Reds were on top for long periods and were soon back in the game. A great move from defence into attack ended with a cracking goal from Odhran Doherty to cut the deficit to 3 points. It was tit for tat over the next 10 minutes. Unfortunately the Reds could not close the gap and the Buncrana lads finished strong with a couple of long range points from their county star John Campbell. The Final score was Red Hughs 1-6, Buncrana 1-11
