Club Membership for 2014 is now due. Adult membership is €40 and must be paid before the 31st of March. Anyone who pays before the 1st of March will be entered into a complimentary draw. Handball will continue on Mondays for both national and secondary students. National students from 7-8 and Secondary students from 8-9.The Donegal Club Yearbook is now on sale. Up to 50 boys and girls attended the first Fun Fridays Gaelic on last Friday evening at Pairc Colmcille. Thanks to all the kids and parents that came down and everyone who helped out on the night. It continues this Friday (24th) from 6.30 to 7.30 pm. €2 per child and everybody is welcome. Dress for the weather and bring a drink!!
Naomh Colmcille and Fanad Gaels are holding a Fight Night fundraising event at the Silver Tassie, Letterkenny on 16 March 2014. We’re now looking for 18 male and four female fighters (15 Fights).

We are glad to announce that we have collected and delivered monies totaling €4,909.50 Euro for both the Dungloe Patient Fund and Donegal Hospice. Mark Clerkin gathering €1,569.50 Euro for the Donegal Hospice and a combined effort from our Hairy Men totaling 3,340 Euro going towards the Dungloe Patient Fund. Royal Flush Draw results for the weekend of 19/1/2014 were 4, 5, 13 & 24. There was no winner of the jackpot of €2620. Once again a massive congratulations to everybody involved with Coláiste na Carraige’s two great victories last week and ádh mhóir in Ulster. The ladies AGM took place last Saturday and the following positions were filled secretary- Seamus Kennedy. senior team managers- Kenneth Byrne and Colin McNelis. Club Membership- Registration days will be held in the Clubhouse on Saturday 25th January between 2pm and 6 pm and in the Old School Carrick on Sunday 26th January between 2 pm and 6 pm. St Brigid’s Cross Making Family Night - Friday 31st January - 7.30pm. The club is holding a charity St Brigid’s Cross Making Family Night in aid of the Across Charity which sends people with disabilities and those who are sick/terminally ill to Lourdes by Jumbulance. The night will include the making of St Brigid crosses, supper of irish stew and
soda bread and musical entertainment. £5 entry on the door for adults (children free) - to include irish stew/soda bread. Any donations for the raffle gratefully received on the night. All welcome - bring along family and friends to support this worthy cause.
The annual Dinner Dance took place in the Clubhouse on Saturday night. Again we had a large crowd attending. The Club Awards followed the food. Terry O Reilly presented the seven MacCumhaills players who played with the All Ireland Winning Nicky Rackard team. handballer of the year -Cormac Muldoon; club appreciation award.- Joe Dunnion. There was a special presentation to Eugene Gallagher. Incredibly, at the AGM Eugene was returned as club Treasurer for his 40th year.
The club are delighted to announce the launch of The Kube. Contestants will pit their wits against the Kube to win a first prize of €4000. This incredible night will take place on the 1st Feb in the Villa Rose Hotel. Doors open at 7pm. First contestant at 8 pm.
There will be a 5k walk/run on Jan 26th at 1pm. All money raised will go to the Donegal to Galway cancer bus. Registration from 11.30am in the clubhouse. Refreshments will be served in the club house afterwards. Entry fee for adults is €7 and €3 for Under 16’s. Come along and support this very worthy cause. They meet every week at Frosses carpark at 9pm. on Mondays and Mountcharles Pier on Wednesdays at 9pm.
Last Wednesday night saw the return of the great Davy Fitzgerald to Aodh Ruadh as he was the special guest at the annual Juvenile Hurling presentation night. Davy again showed himself to be a really genuine character as he spent over four hours in Aras Aoidh Ruaidh where he kept the audience of over 200 entertained for the evening. He presented medals to all our underage squads, the highlight of which were the double winning minor team. Our representatives on the county minor team that won the Ulster minor shield, Tommy Gillespie, Colm Kelly, Eddie Lynch, Jamie Brennan, Eugene Drummond, Oisin Rooney, Ciaran Rami and Donal Sweeny received their medals from the Clare legend.
Individual awards were made to Adam Rami, Owen Doherty and Shane Gillespie. The trio were part of the Donegal under 12 development squad who played in Croke Park last year. Meanwhile Eugene Drummond who made the Ulster Under 16 development squad was also recognised. The ladies, as always, put on a great feast for all. Many thanks to all who baked, and yet again to Kieran Barron at Value Centre, Letterkenny and William Doogan of MCM. Ballyshannon were more than generous supplying goodies and Davy’s favourite Miwadi many thanks to the lads. Thanks to John Hughes who put together a great slide show highlighting Davy’s career and many thanks to Brian Drummond for his great photography work on the night. There is a meeting of under 16 footballers in Aras Aoidh Ruaidh this Wednesday 22nd January. Indoor training continues on Friday 24th January. There is a charge of €2 per head. Please bring runners as no other footwear allowed. Parents/Guardians are asked to please collect children promptly after their session is finished. Recreational football is back this Saturday at 7pm under the lights at Páirc Aoidh Ruaidh and once again the emphasis is very much on the craic. It’s excellent value at just €5 for the session. Indoor Hurling training for U6, U8, U10 and U12 resumes on 30th January from 6-7pm at Game on Sports. New members always welcome. The GAA have recently launched a national Club Draw as a fundraiser for all clubs. The draw will take place on St Patricks Day. Some excellent prizes with the 1st Prize a trip to Australia. The funds from all ticket sales will remain with the club. Tickets are priced at €10. For more details contact the club executive. Pairc Eamon O’Beirne and the practice pitch are closed until further notice. No matches, training or shooting practice is allowed as the goal mouth’s have been resowed. The old pitch is still open for training. The selling of the National GAA tickets will take place on Friday the 24th of January, people from the club will be going door to door. If you would like to assist with the selling of these tickets there will be a meeting on Wednesday 22nd of January in the clubhouse or else give your name to Sarah Tully or John Cunnigham. It would be great if the town could support this fundraiser.The ladies team will resume training on Monday the 27th of January @ 7.30pm in the vocational school astro-turf. There will be a small fee of E2 per person. Kilotto numbers this week were 10, 19, 20, 27. There was no jackpot winner. Match three prize of €60 was shared between Mairead Gallagher, Matt Erskine and Sharon Gallagher Killymard.

The show is called Scor Encore and is a competition for various talents and will begin on TG4 on Feb 9th.
