St Mary’s (Convoy)

The lotto result five people matched two and they were E. McMullan, K. Harkin, M.Gallagher, R.Kennendy, B.Gallagher. Next week’s jackpot is €1800. The U-13s lost away to St. Eunan’s in the Shield semi-final. The seniors lost at home to Urris and the reserves won.

The clubs next big fund-raiser a boxing tournament is on November 30 th in the parish hall.


The lotto numbers drawn at the weekend for the jackpot of €1500 were 3, 2, 7, 4, 1, 8, 6, and 5. Caolan Gillespie matched the first thr numbers and won €60.

Next week’s jackpot is €1550.

The U-13 Shield semi-final against Red Hughs is now fixed for Friday 11th of October in Glenfin, throw in 5.30 pm.


The Match N Win numbers drawn at the weekend were 15,20,21,22. There was no jackpot winner, Next week’s Jackpot is €2,420. The €15 consolation winners were Rose Canny, Dunaff, Mary T Devlin, Annagh, Cathal Toland, Gaddyduff, Madge Porter, Collon, Carndonagh, Danielle Carey, Ard Chlocher, Carndonagh.

The club wishes to thanks the organisers and all who helped out at the Car Wash fund raiser in aid of the new club house development.

The next club meeting is on Wednesday 16th October at 8.30pm.


The winning lotto numbers for Monday 2nd September were 1, 5, 15, and 17. Congratulations to Caroline and Sean McDermott, Bredagh, Glen who won the jackpot of €4,500. Next week’s jackpot will be €500.

The minor girls are continuing their training, and still awaiting the fixture date for their county semi-final.

The club have begun coaching in schools with two coaches visiting every primary school in the parish.

Details of the club dinner dance will be available in the coming weeks; we are hoping it will prove to be as much of a success as last years.

Club membership is now open.


The dream run in this years senior championship came to an end on Sunday, when we were narrowly beaten by Killybegs in the semi final. Whilst everyone is disappointed with the result, we should not lose sight of what we have achieved this season. With such a youthful and dedicated side, we can look forward to many more outings in MacCumhaill Park in the coming years.

The Shaun Farren Memorial League and the U-9 league will return to its usual times on Sunday.There was no winner of this weeks lotto jackpot of €850. The sequence drawn was 6-

3-7-4-1-5-2. The winner of the 50 euro was Laurence Hunter, Malin Town with the 20 euro seller’s prize going to Lillys Bar. Next weeks jackpot stands at €900.

Naomh Colmcille

The U-13s have qualified for the Shield final courtesy of a great home win against Cloughaneely in the semi-final on Sunday. The boys built up a 3-10 to 1-0 lead at half time, and extended the lead in the second half to emerge victorious on a full time score of Naomh Colmcille 7-19 4-7 Cloughaneely. They take on St. Eunans B in the final.

The minor board AGM will take place on Wednesday 6th November at 8:00 pm. The senior board AGM will take place on Sunday 24th November.

The club’s dinner dance is scheduled for Saturday 16th November at the Mount Errigal Hotel in Letterkenny. Congratulations to Andrew and Sharon Clarke on the birth of their baby daughter. This week’s lotto numbers will be included in next week’s notes.

Naomh Ultan

Royal Flush Draw results for the weekend of 26/10/2013 were 7, 8, 19 and 21. There was no winner of the jackpot of €2060. Consolation prizes went to Ben Baskin, Patrick White and Dessie Gallagher. Next week’s jackpot now stands at €2010. The seniors played out a thriller on Saturday evening last.

Cill Chartha

Congratulations to the U-21 team on reaching the county semi-final following a 5-15 to 2-9 victory over Dungloe in Ardara last Sunday. They now meet Four Masters in the last four.

The club 10 week draw tickets will be on sale this week with the first draw taking place on Sunday 27th at the club bingo, weekly prizes are 1st €1,000, 2nd €500, 3rd €300, 4th 5th and 6th €200.

This week’s club Lotto numbers were 5, 13, 15, 23 and the lotto plus numbers were 1, 3, 7, 21. There was no jackpot winner the consolation prizes went to David Kennedy €50, Pamela Bonner €30, Mary Tubredy €20 and the jackpot next week is €2,200

Naomh Muire

Bord na nÓg and Senior teams first aid for coaches working with teams and De-fib. courses are in the process of being set up over the winter months. Its vitally important that anyone who is intending to work in any capacity with club teams next year get these course’s done.

In 2014 Garda vetting is going to be compulsory for all coaching members and club members who are involved with under age teams. This is not a club rule but is the law and it is being implemented by ‘Coaching Ireland’ and clubs are going to have to step into line and implement these rules. We ask anyone who is thinking about helping out next year and existing Coaches to contact the Children’s officer Dónal Ó’Séarcáigh to get Garda Vetting done and to avail of the courses that will benefit not only coaches but the club and club teams.

Naomh Naille

The Slotto numbers drawn at weekend were 2,5,4,1,3,6,7. There was no jackpot winner,

consolation prize of €80 goes to Daniel Meehan, Port, Inver. Next week’s Jackpot is €1240.

Well we are finally on the final week countdown of the Intermediate finals which is on this Sunday the 13th

The senior’s and reserves were out in league action on Saturday at home to Fanad

Gaels. The seniors won against Fanad Gaels to clinch promotion to Division Two.

The U-16 boys had a great win at the weekend over McCumhaill’s in what was a very

close match in the end. They will now meet Fanad Gaels in the county final.

Tickets will go on sale this weekend for the club’s Strictly Come Dancing show.Tickets are priced €10 per child and €15 per adult.

Naomh Conaill

There was no winner of last weeks lotto. The numbers drawn were 2, 22, 28 and 30. Two prizes of €50 went to Janice McNelis, Narin Road and Mary Jo Bonner, Dungloe. Next weeks jackpot is €4,200.

Well done to the U16 team who put in a brilliant performance against a very strong St Eunans side to claim the U16 Division 1 county league title. This was a very close game with Naomh Conaill holding on to win by the narrowest of margins.

Congratulations to Ian Molloy who has been appointed referee for the 2013 Donegal senior football final.

Aodh Ruadh

Aodh Ruadh U-21s faced St Malachy’s,Belfast for a challenge in the park on Saturday afternoon. Michael Ward was among the goals as Ballyshannon got into their stride in the second half of what was a useful work out ahead of the next outing in the U-21 B championship.

The U-16s take on Naomh Conaill this Sunday, 13th October in the Southern Regional semi-final first leg in Glenties.

Hurling- The U-10s travelled to St Eunan’s on Sunday for their final blitz of the year. The lads had six games and played very well in all the matches winning five of them defeating St Eunan’s twice, Setanta, Letterkenny Gaels and Carndonagh with their only loss coming against Burt in their opening game. Thanks to Chris Kelly and Pauric Keenaghan and all the parents who brought the lads to the blitz and for their support all year.

The various skills competitions at all ages have now being completed. For the first time this year we had an U- 6 competition which is very encouraging. The results in the U-6 grade were as follows; (1) Cian McDonald, (2) Eoin Doogan, (3) Liam Doogan.

We had 17 competitors in the under 8 event, great numbers showing the hard work that has gone into this age group all season. Results were as follows; (1) Drew Ryan, (2) Ronan Barron, (3)Dara McDevitt, (4 joint) Matthew Tierney and Ryan Kane. Well done to Dennis Daly, Kieran Daly and Kerry Ryan who co-ordinated the event.

The U-14 and minor competitions also took place this week with high levels of skill on the display. The results in under 14 were as follows; (1) Conal Sweeney, (2) Stephen Anderson, (3) Evan McTernan,(4 joint) Cathal Canavan and Cathal Feeney, (5) Pauric Keenaghan, (6) Phillip Myers.

The results in the minor competition were as follows; (1) Eddie Lynch , (2) Tommy Gillespie, (3 joint) Ciaran Rami, Brendan Gillespie and Eugene Drummond, (4) Bryan Ward, (5): Oisín Rooney, (6) Jason Granaghan.

All our under-age teams activities have finished now for the season with the exception of the minors who play the Cavan champions in the Ulster minor championship on the 27th October.

The ladies committee are planning an underage presentation evening on Friday Oct 18th, we’ll have the throw-in time and full details in the notes next week.

The third annual 1,000 km walk for Our Lady’s Hospital for Sick Children, Crumlin, takes place Sunday, 13th October from 12 noon to 4pm at the Mall Park, Ballyshannon. The walk will be started off this year by families who attend or have attended Crumlin, so please come along for 12 noon if you are one of these families. All proceeds go towards the new cancer and cardiac wards which are nearing completion at the hospital. We hope to see plenty out walking on the day as we need to complete 2,540 laps to walk the 1,000km.

There was no winner of the €5,800 Lotto jackpot last Sunday. The numbers drawn were 1, 2, 3, 4, 6 and 11. In the lucky dip €20 each went to: Noeleen O’Brien, Donegal Road; Owen Roe O’Neill, East Port; Maura Gallagher, Rossnowlagh Road; Bríd Quinn, c/o Pat’s Bar; and John Clarke, Benildus Avenue. Next draw is in McGinley’s Bar on Sunday at 8.30pm. The jackpot is €5,900.


We’re there! for an unbelievable third time in our short but sweet history, the Wee Club has booked it’s deserved place in the Donegal showpiece!

A massive congratulations must go to the players, Gary and every one of the backroom team in the victory. Lets hope we can push on now and take Dr.Maguire back to Glenswilly.

The game is penciled in for October 20th at 4pm,in MacCumhaill Park.

So its time to get the bunting and flags out, and transform the Glen and lets enjoy this achievement so far. It is a very positive time for the club and parish and hopefully we all will have something major to celebrate in the near future.

A club meeting will be held on Monday 14th October at 8.30pm in the club hall.

We all congratulate and offer best wishes to Michael Murphy who has been selected to captain Ireland in the international rules series against Australia this season. The first test is in Cavan on October 19th. Hopefully Michael can be accommodated as this is 24 hours prior to the county final. It is an honour to have one of our own captaining our country and we wish Michael and the lads all the best in the series.

St Micheal’s

The club in conjunction with Dunfanaghy Boxing Club are hosting a night of White Collar Boxing in the Clubhouse,in November. Among those taking part will be Colm McFadden, Christy Toye, Eamon McGee, Martin McElhinney, Daniel McLaughlin and the “Rock” Brothers, plus there will be more local celebrities taking part on the night.

Well done to Colm McFadden who is the only Donegal player nominated for an all star this year when the nominations were announced last week.The club extends deepest sympathy to Paddy Coll on the death of his neice Frances Greeney (Nee Walsh) in Galway last weekend. Sympathy is also extended to her Aunt Sheila McGrath Letterkenny to her mother Rosemary, sister Eileen and family circle.

There was no Jackpot winner in the St. Michael’s Mini Lotto on Sunday night Sunday last; The Numbers drawn were 1,8,11,12,17,18; there were no Match 5 winners . Fifteen people matched 4 and their names were drawn, the winner of the €100 was Kieran McFadden Roscad Creeslough. This weeks jackpot will be €4200.

Well Done to the Senior team who defeated Malin in the senior championship semi-final in Ballybofey last Sunday.

A very big thank you to everyone that helped out in an energency after the game on Sunday, especially Avril Gallagher, Jimmy White, John O’Sullivan, the MacCumhaills Club and the other people that responded so quickly.

The U-13 team play Ardara in the Division One1 regional league semi final on Saturday.venue tbc.

The Jamsie Boyle U-12 Blitz took place last Saturday in Fintra.The Killotto had no winner this week, numbers were 5, 7, 9, 17, Match three winners were Mickey Campbell, Gemma Byrne, Liam Keeney, Seamus McGuinness and Barbara Quigley. Next Week’s jackpot is €1,700.

Na Rossa

The seniors travelled to Dunkineely last Saturday in their latest league match and in a battling performance were unlucky not to take something out of the game as they eventually lost by two points.

Four Masters

The U-8 and U-10 boys and girls will be having indoor hurling league at the Bosco every Tuesday in Nov and January from 5.45 to 6.45pm. For further info please contact Shirley Doherty 0873140486 and to register.

The AGM for Bord na nÓg will be taking place on Monday, 21st October at 8pm in the Abbey Hotel. This is a chance for anybody interested in helping with the underage branch of the Four Masters Club to come along and play a part.

Letterkenny Gaels

The U-16s play Malin in the championship semi-final next Sunday 12noon at Páirc na nGaeil. The U-10 hurlers had their final blitz in O’Donnell Park where the boys played their best as always. Well done to all players, Paul, Arkady and parents for their hard work and commitment throughout the year. The Clubs annual night at the races will take place in Arena 7 on Friday the 18th October. All cards should be returned to any of the club officers or team managers by the weekend. The Lotto numbers for week ending the 29th September were 4,5,7 and 16. The Jackpot was won by Kevin and Mary Lynch. Next week’s jackpot will be €1,050.

Congratulations to the U-21s who defeated Gaoth Dobhair, in the county semi-final on Frdiy night, in Convoy.

The U-13s are out in the regional final this Saturday in the Centre of Excellence in Convoy. They play Termon at 4 pms.

The club is running a Couch to 5k programme. It started on Tuesday night 8th wil run every Tuesday and Thursday at 7.17pm and lasts approx 45 minutes. Its only €2 a session. Hard luck to the U-21 team who lost to Kilcar in the quarter final of the championship.

On Saturdaylast Dungloe staged the U-12 Seamus Boyle Memorial tournament which involved two teams from Mayo Kitimagh and Aughamore, Naomh Muire and Dungloe. A special thanks to everyone who helped out on the day.

Indoor Hurling for U-6 up to U-12 started last week at the Rosses Community School Gym (€2 / session).
