A quick round of late sharp-shooting saw Donegal defeat Tyrone by a margin of five points in Healy Park, Omagh in Sunday’s Allianz National Hurling League clash.
It was the home team who started brightest, notching a couple of score within the first two minutes, but once settled, Donegal were back on level terms with scores from Henderson and Cullen.
The first half saw the lead change a number of times but Donegal managed to forge a two point lead ending the half 0-07 to 0-05 in front.
They re-emerged to a snowy backdrop and despite a strong start by Tyrone, Donegal kept a busy work rate up and never allowed them to settle despite Tyrone taking the lead, 0-08 to 0-07, five minutes into the half.
Donegal clawed back level with a Ronan McDermott point and this was followed by three scores from Henderson to put them 0-11 to 0-08 ahead. Tyrone replied with a Damien Casey point.
In the dying minutes Donegal went into scoring overdrive with a rapid fire succession of scores from Paul Sheridan, Enda McDermott and Sheridan again to leave the visitors running out victors by a score line of 0-14 to 0-09.
