An excellent workshop will take place in the field on Saturday, January 30, from 11am to 1pm dealing with player improvement and development. It will be given by Philip Kerr from Derry who is a top class coach with the Ulster Council.
The club is hosting a foundation Coaching course this weekend, January 22/23. It begins on Friday night form 7.30pm - 9.30pm with Child Ethics and on Saturday 9.30am - 3pm with theory. Anyone working with a team or wishing to work with a team this year must have this basic qualification. Also anyone who has this completed many years ago can do this course to refresh their minds and to familiarise themselves with modern techniques.

Also the club is also hosting an Award 1 coaching course for those who have the Foundation course completed. This takes place over two weekends in February 19/20 and the 26/27. This Sunday, January 24th, the All-Ireland Club Junior Hurling Championship semi-final will take place at Father Tierney Park. The Ulster champions, Eoghan Rua from Coleraine will play Connacht Champions Sylane from Galway at 2pm. All key Aodh Ruadh stewards are required at the Park for 12 noon and all other helpers on the day should be present by 12.30pm.

Aodh Ruadh took part in the Scór Sinsir semi-finals in the Bluestack Centre in Drimarone on Saturday evening. The quiz team of Sylvester Maguire, Paddy Kelly, Eamon Martin Maguire and John Hughes came second and will progress to the county final. Also on the night Eugene Perry delivered a magnificent rendition of Sam's For The Hills.

The underage presentation awards took place on Sunday 17th of January in Dom’s Pier 1. The club has been chosen by Tesco in Letterkenny for the monthly community fund. If any members do their shopping in Tesco, they are asked to collect the blue vouchers and donate them to the Glenswilly fund. We are very thankful to Tesco for choosing the club as part of the community fund.
The club will host its next minor board meeting in the clubhouse on Monday, January 25th next at 7.55pm. At least one manager from each group is asked to be there.
The general monthly meeting will take place directly after the minor board meeting at 9pm on January 25th next. A delegate will be elected to replace County Board delegate Paddy Tinney who is now Assistant Treasurer with the Donegal County Board.
Southern Minor Board
A meeting of the Southern board will take place this Thursday 21st in the Abbey hotel starting at 8pm sharp. All delegates are asked to attend. Fixtures will be on the agenda.
