After last week’s postponement of the Conor McGurk tournament due to the weather, Donegal Senior Hurling team were back in action against Down in Belfast at the weekend.
The manager Ardal McDermott and his management team are still examining and experimenting different players for the first league game against Mayo on the 14th February.
Donegal, despite conceding two early goals, were just five points down at the break, 3-7 to 1-8.
Donegal had much better belief in second half and goals from Danny Cullen and a scrambled effort by Sean McVeigh had them within a point and a late free gave them a magnficent share of the spoils.
Manager Ardal McDermott was complimentary to his team’s effort especially after such a bad start, and praised the tackling and pressure play by the Donegal men.
