The Alley Theatre in Strabane will host their usual Open Mic Nights and have dedicated a night to all the budding young entertainers with the introduction of ‘Junior Open Mic Nights’.
The Alley’s annual Open Mic Nights will begin on Thursday 21st July and continue throughout the summer months on 4th & 18th August and 1st September as the Alley Bar hosts a wide variety of talent with music styles ranging from folk, pop, country and acoustic music. There will also be comedy, poetry, hypnotists and storytellers so come along and relax in a chilled out atmosphere.
This year’s Open Mic Nights will be hosted by the very talented Josh Clarke, from The Brambles who said he was “really looking forward to hosting these evenings in the Alley. People from Strabane and the surrounding areas are extremely talented and these nights are the perfect opportunity to perform in front of family and friends in a relaxed atmosphere.”
Following the success of the annual Open Mic Nights, the Alley Theatre have decided to introduce Junior Open Mic Nights which will provide local youth with a platform to perform live in an intimate friendly venue, with the promise of hearing some great young up-and-coming talent. Hosting the very first Junior Open Mic Nights will be Gerry Strawbridge which will take place on Friday 8th & 12th August at 7pm.
Original Sinners, a night dedicated to original singer/songwriter music, continues throughout the summer with the next instalment on Saturday 6th August.
