The family of Niamh Cannon from Letterkenny, who was crushed in an incident outside a Dublin nightclub, say they are relieved she is recovering from her ordeal.
Niamh, an 18-year-old student at Marino College of Further Education, was taken to St James’s Hospital in Dublin when she was seriously injured as she and others were caught in a crush while queuing to gain entry to the Copper Face Jacks nightclub on Harcourt Street on Monday night.
Niamh was described as being in a critical condition when she arrived in St James’s Hospital, but she is now recovering well and is out of danger, according to her father, John Cannon.
John, an advisor with agricultural body, Teagasc in Letterkenny, said they wished to thank everyone who helped out and sent good wishes during the ordeal.
“Really, we just want to thank everyone who has helped and everyone who has sent well wishes and to say that all is well now thankfully,” he told the Donegal Democrat yesterday. Seven people were taken to hospital following the incident.
