A crowd of around 450 people attended the unveiling of a memorial to the Erne Fishermen at The Mall Quay, Ballyshannon on Sunday.
There were five families of vistors from as far afield as the USA, as well as from South Africa, Belgium and Switzerland.
The memorial honours local fishermen who took a landmark legal case to restore fishing rights on the Erne Estuary, 300 years after they had been seized by the Crown and made private.
In 1925, John Cleary, Hugh Gavigan, Red Willie Goan, Mickey McCarthy, Willie Morrow and William Phillips initiated the case, which they finally won in 1933.
