The Glenties man completed four years in the post on Sunday evening and, while the disappointment of losing both the senior and minor finals have been on the agenda, the burning question has been on the future of McGuinness as manager.
It says much for the status of Jim McGuinness that everyone, young and old, want him to remain and keep Donegal at the top table of Gaelic football.
His record over five years (the first at U-21 level) is unparalleled in the history of Donegal, winning three Ulster senior titles, an Ulster U-21 title and three All-Ireland final appearances - winning one senior.
