All five Donegal properties in this week’s Allsop Space auction were sold for considerably more than their reserve prices.
A four bedroom detached house in Killybegs, listed at just €35,000, sold for €55,000 on Tuesday at the RDS.
A retail warehouse unit at Ballyraine Business Park, Ramelton Road, Letterkenny did similarly well. Listed with a reserve of €75,000, the property went for €125,000.
A two-bedroom second floor apartment with sea views at Atlantic Way, Bundoran was snapped up for €32,000, that’s €7,000 over the reserve of €25,000. The same apartment was listed with a reserve of €17,000 in Allsop’s July auction of distressed properties but was withdrawn prior to the auction date.
A ground floor two bedroom apartment at West Side Apartments, Pearse Road in Letterkenny, with a reserve price of €12,000 was bought for €20,000.
Finally, a c.3 acre site at Sockar, Trentagh, Letterkenny, with a reserve of just €10,000, sold for staggering 3.6 times that amount, €36,000.
In all, 144 lots made €25,604,250, a hefty 25% margin over the total reserve price of the listings, which was €20m.
Richard O’Neill of Allsop Space told the Democrat: “This was a very positive auction, our most positive to date.
“There was substantial, collective bidding across the lots on the day and business was very brisk.
“We are delighted and see this as good news for everyone”.
