A young Donegal man who emerged as one of the top talents in the recent Opportunity Knocks competition in Donegal Town recently has won s national online singer/songwriter competition which attracted stiff competition from all over Ireland.
Deane Conaghan from Mountcharles attracted high praise from Mickey Joe Harte and all the judges when he competed in the successful Central Hotel’s recent competition and was tipped as “one to watch”.
Deane has without a doubt proved the judges right and has won first prize in the online singer-songwriter competition ‘Spread Your Wings’ on the music4you.ie website with his composition of ‘Goodbye Miss Jane’
The competition was hosted by the site to raise much needed awareness and funds for Parkinson’s Disease Ireland.
Deane’s original song ‘Goodbye Miss Jane’ was awarded top marks by the three celebrity judges Leanne Moore (Winner of the All Ireland Talent show), John Spillane (singer-songwriter) and Shay Healy (Eurovision songwriter, broadcaster and journalist).
The Mountcharles man will now receive €10,000 in prizes, including a state of the art web site, a full photo promo shoot with renowned Limerick photographer Maurice Gunning, a style makeover, a video shoot with ILoveLimerick.com and the winning song ‘ Goodbye Miss Jane’ will be recorded and produced by Dave Keary of Red Door Productions in Limerick City.
Deane will also receive a PA system sponsored by XMusic and the popular Mountcharles singer would like to say a huge thank you to all the people who voted for his song ‘Goodbye Miss Jane’ on the music4you.ie website via Facebook.
Deane is currently working on his original songs with legendary producer Stuart Epps in London and another of his original songs-the first track ‘ In The City’ from his upcoming album can be heard on his website www.deanejames.com.
