Gardai in Letterkenny are continuing their investigation into fire that destroyed a truck full of tyres on the outskirts of the town on Sunday morning.
It is understood that up to 220 tyres were on board the truck body that was parked near the Port Bridge at approximately 6am.
It is unclear how the blaze started and gardai confirmed they are still investigating the matter. No one was injured during the incident that completely destroyed the truck and its contents. A fire crew and two fire engines from Letterkenny Fire Station attended the scene and brought the blaze under control with the use of a Tele Porter, which was used to remove the smouldering tyres from the wreckage.
