Funeral today of tragic fire victim
The funeral will take place this afternoon, Thursday, of the Ballybofey woman who tragically died following a fire at the apartment in which she was staying in Dublin.
39-year-old Breeda Doherty was the only occupant of the apartment at Temple Place, just off Grenville Street, when the blaze broke out in the early hours of Saturday morning. The body of the woman was removed from the scene by firemen and taken to the city morgue.
Five fire engines were at the scene and forensic experts carried out an examination of the building.
It's understood that Ms. Doherty was in Dublin for a job interview when the tragedy occurred.
Her remains will be removed from her residence at Corraine, Ballybofey, at 2.15pm today for 3pm Requiem Mass in the Church of Our Lady of Perpetual Succour at Glenfin. She will be laid to rest afterwards in Glenfin cemetery.
She is survived by her mother, Elizabeth, daughter Tamara, sister, Eilish, brothers, Michael, Charles, Pauric and Liam, uncles, aunts, other relatives and friends.
