Deaths in Donegal - Tuesday evening, April 17th

The Donegal Democrat has been informed of the following deaths:

- Josephine Murphy Devaney, Revlin, Donegal town

- Eddie Farren, St. Paul’s Park, Greencastle

- Mary Helen Mc Daid late of Heatherlea, Ourt, Gleneely 

- Nan Sweeney, Ardara 

- Patsy Dawson, Ballymagowan, Dunkineely

- Sean Diviney formerly of Wexford, and late of London

- Christina (Chrissie), Doherty, Carn, Ballybofey

Josephine Murphy Devaney, Revlin, Donegal town

The death has taken place of Josephine Murphy Devaney, Revlin, Donegal town. Remains reposing at the family home Tuesday from 10am until 10pm. Removal from the family home on Wednesday morning at 10:30am to St Patrick’s Church, Donegal, for 11am funeral Mass. Private cremation will take place immediately afterwards in Lakelands Crematorium, Cavan. House private on Wednesday morning please. Family flowers only, donations in lieu to the North West Hospice Patients’ Comfort Fund, C/o any family member.

Eddie Farren, St. Paul’s Park, Greencastle

The death has taken place at Letterkenny University Hospital of Eddie Farren, St. Paul’s Park, Greencastle.

Removal from the Eternal Light Chapel of Rest, Mountain Top, Letterkenny on Tuesday April 17th at 10pm, going to his residence.

Funeral arrangements to be confirmed later. Family time please from 11pm. until 11am.

Mary Helen Mc Daid late of Heatherlea, Ourt, Gleneely

The death has taken place at Carndonagh Community Hospital of Mary Helen Mc Daid late of Heatherlea, Ourt, Gleneely.

Removal from Carndonagh Community Hospital Chapel of Rest on Tuesday evening April 17th at 7pm, going to her residence.

Funeral from there on Thursday April 19th at 10.15 for 11a.m. requiem mass in St. Mary’s Church, Bocan, Culdaff followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery.

Family time please from 11p.m. until 10a.m.

Family flowers only please, donations in lieu if desired to the Hospice Ward, Carndonagh Community Hospital c/o Liam Collins Funeral Director or any family member.

Nan Sweeney (Briggam) Beagh, Ardara

The death has taken place of Nan Sweeney (Briggam), Beagh, Ardara.

Her remains are reposing at her residence.

Funeral from there on Wednesday afternoon at 12.30pm to The Church Of The Holy Family, Ardara for 1pm Requiem Mass with burial afterwards in the adjoining graveyard. Family time from 11pm to 11am.

Patsy Dawson, Ballymagowan, Dunkineely

The death has taken place of Patsy Dawson, Ballymagowan, Dunkineely. 

Remains reposing at his home from 12 noon to 10pm on Tuesday.  

Funeral Mass on Wednesday at 11am in the Church of Saint Joseph and Saint Conal, Bruckless. 

Burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. 

Sean Diviney formerly of Wexford, and late of London

The death has taken place Sean Diviney formerly of Wexford, and late of London.

His remains will arrive at the Muff border on Tuesday afternoon at approximately 12.45, going to his sister-in-law Annie and Pierce O’Neill’s residence at The Mill, Culdaff.

Funeral from there on Wednesday morning, April 18th, at 10.30am for 11am Requiem Mass in St. Mary’s Church, Bocan, Culdaff followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery.

The peaceful death has occurred at the North West Hospice, Sligo of Josephine Murphy Devaney, Revlin, Donegal Town. Remains Reposing at the family home on Tuesday, from 10am until 10pm. Removal from the family home on Wednesday at 10.30am to St. Patrick's Church.

Christina (Chrissie) Doherty, Carn, Ballybofey

The death has occurred of Christina (Chrissie) Doherty, Carn, Ballybofey

Remains reposing at her home on Tuesday, April 17th, from 11am until removal at 7pm to St. Mary's Church, Sessiaghoneill, arriving at 7.30pm to repose overnight.

Funeral Mass on Wednesday at 11am with interment afterwards in the adjoining churchyard. Donations in lieu of flowers, if so desired, to the Patients' Comfort Fund, St. Joseph's Community Hospital, care of any family member.
