Explore Gola Island in a unique way on Sunday, July 27 by taking part in the Gola Guide or the 1.2km Swim Challenge in aid of the lifeboat.
Pól Ó Muireasáin and friends will lead a guided tour of the island, giving an overview of its history, flora and fauna, and demonstrating the culinary delights found locally by sea foraging.
The trained swimmers will leave Gola at 3pm, weather permitting, accompanied by the Coast Guard, and hope to reach the new pier in Magheragallan around 4pm, where fun events such as curragh racing and a picnic are planned.
Silkie Sailing will run boats departing Magheragallan 1-3pm. Last boat to mainland departs around 4pm.
