Huge crowds attended the Community Games National finals in Limerick University last weekend.
Over 3,000 competitors and managers representing all the different counties too part in twenty different events.
The National President, Gerry Davenport, opened the Games on Saturday and the competitions continued until Sunday evening.,Needless to say the All-Ireland medals were hard earned but the Donegal competitors accounted for themselves very well.
Sean McGinley, Glenswilly, won silver in the U-16 1500m; Cliodhna McBride, Cranford, won bronze in the U-10 200m; Jordan Bangura, Gweedore, won a fourth place medal in the U-16 200m.
Gweedore U16 4x200m relay team secured silver; the Fanad U-12 7-a-side girls Soccer and U-15 girls Soccer teams won bronze and 4th place medals.
A good number of parents travelled the long distance to support their heroes and were treated to two days of fantastic and exciting sport.
A special word of thanks to the County managers Mary Crossan and Sean Dorrian, who were in charge for the weekend.
