For the last number of days, the sun has shone brightly in Manhattan with no shortage of green and gold Donegal jerseys on display as hundreds travelled from the county to celebrate this great occasion.

Donegal was well and truly represented by a large contingent from the Rosses - the Maghery Band and supporters, the Mary from Dungloe, Caroline O'Donnell, many of last year's participants in the festival and a delegation from Donegal County Council who were also promoting the county from a business and tourism perspective.
Martina Boyle Diver of the Maghery Band and a well-known figure every year at the Mary from Dungloe festival said: "It has been a very proud occasion for us all here - an amazing feeling to march down 5th. Ave. representing your county and country.
"So far we have played on Ellis Island, at the foot of the Statue of Liberty and anywhere we can get space. Our next big one is on top of the Empire State Building.
"We also have Caroline O'Donnell our current Mary from Dungloe and many of the other Marys from home and the US. It really is the trip of a lifetime."
The band was joined by the Cathaoirleach of Donegal County Council, Seamus O'Donnell. Cllr. Martin Harley and Gary Martin who are all in New York promoting the county.
