St. Eunan's U-16s were the big winners in Donegal sport at the weekend, lifting the Ulster U-16 title when defeating Down champions, Warrenpoint, in the final in Dromore - only the second Donegal side to lift the title.
The GAA celebrated at their annual banquet with the annual winners in all categories being presented with their awards. The two retiring players, Eamon McGee and Colm McFadden, were suitably honoured while the highlight of the night was the first ever presentation of the Séamus Mac Géidigh player of the club championship award, which was won by Michael Murphy.
Mona McSharry, a student at Colaiste Cholmcille, Ballyshannon and member of the local Marlins Swimming Club, underlined her place at the top of Irish swimming with seven titles at the National Swim Championships in Lisburn.
There were quite a number of underage presentations - in Aodh Ruadh, Killybegs, Naomh Muire and St. Mary's, Convoy.
Donegal were back in training on Saturday, just in time to prepare for a tough group in the Dr. McKenna Cup as they were drawn against Tyrone, Cavan and Jordanstown.
Drumkeen and Copany Rovers drew 1-1 in the CT Ball Division Two of the Donegal League and there was a full round of games in all divisions and in cup competitions.
