People from all corners of Donegal gathered to celebrate another successful year for the Donegal Association of London at recent their annual dinner dance.
A packed house at the Clayton Crown Hotel in Cricklewood saw over 320 come together for a night of celebration and friendship.
This year honoured guest was Portnoo’s Fr Brendan McBride, who travelled from San Francisco for the event.
Other guests included: Paralympic gold and silver medalist in cycling Katie-George Dunlevy; Fr Brian Quinn, Parish Priest at the Church of the Irish Martyrs in Letterkenny; and country music singer and TV host, Shauna McStravock.
The association also awarded their Person of the Year award to Michael Cunningham from Kilcar.
Michael is a stalwart member of Tir Chonaill Gaels in Greenford.
Association Chairman, Tony McFadden from Falcarragh, said it was a great night and it also helped raise funds for some very worthy causes.
“It was a very good night. There were people from all over Donegal and it was broadcast live on radio. Next year's is a big one, as it is our 70th anniversary,” Tony explained.
The event is the highlight of the year for the Donegal Diaspora in London and Tony says it gives many people living there a chance to meet up with old friends again, some whom they may not have seen since the year previous. The association is active throughout the year and host many charity events for worthy causes in Donegal and London.
