If laughter is the best medicine then Ballybofey comedian, Conal Gallen, is set to become the doctor on TG4’s Saturday night entertainment schedule.
For the award winning comic will launch a series of half hour shows on the channel this weekend, becoming the first comedian to secure such a major contract on national television.
Entitled ‘Conal Gallen - A Laugh and a Half’, the first of the thirteen part series airs on TG4 this Saturday night immediately following the movie ‘Goodfellas’.
With over twenty years experience on the circuit, Conal has become the fastest selling act in the Irish entertainment scene and has also been toured extensively internationally. With a double-platinum DVD and album under his belt to add to the numerous awards he has received in that time, the new series is a well earned salute to Donegal’s Mr. Comedy.
His self-penned song, ‘Horse It Into Ya Cynthia’, was the most requested song ever in the 37 year history of B.B.C. Radio Ulster.
The TG4 series will feature previously recorded but as yet unseen footage of the comedian. Prepare yourselves for thirteen weeks and six and a half hours of pure comedy...!
