Donegal lads get underage calls

A handful Donegal footballers were this week called up to their respective national teams for upcoming friendlies.

Finn Harps U-19 midfielder Christopher Flanagan has been included in Ireland U-17 squad for two matches in Croatia next weekend. His teammate at Finn Park, Darragh Black, is on the provisional squad for that same squad, who are managed by Tom Mohan, the former Harps midfielder.

Donegal will have four representatives on the home-based U-18 squad that will play Wales in a friendly in Bangor on Tuesday. Those include Cathal McDaid and Black from Finn Harps, George Kelly of Aileach FC, Letterkenny native, Conor Tourish, who is on the books of Derry City.

Meanwhile at U-21 level, Derry City midfielder and FAI Ford Cup winner, Barry McNamee has been selected to play for a home-based national team in a practice match against Leinster & Munster who are preparing for the forthcoming Uefa Regions Cup in San Marino. The game will take place in the AUL complex, Clonshaugh, on Saturday at 1:30pm.
