Noctor back for Killybegs for the replay?

The spotlight this week is on Four Masters' Shane Carr and Killybegs' Jason Noctor and whether or not they will be fit to play in Sunday evening's RTE Radió Na Gaeltachtá Senior Championship replay in Ballybofey. (Throw-in 6.15 pm).

Both Joe Lacey in Donegal Town and his opposite number in Killybegs Peter McGinley are sweating on the fitness of both players this week. Former county man Carr went into last weekend's drawn encounter struggling with a quad injury and was forced to retire at half-time.

Killybegs were forced to line-out without stylish defender Noctor. The former county minor and U-21 player missed the game with a leg injury. He was one of three first choice players the Fishermen were without for Saturday's 0-10 each draw. The other two were goal-keeper Anthony O'Hara and midfielder Ciaran Tully.

While manager McGinley did not hold out much hope earlier this week that any of the three would be fit enough to take their place in the starting 15, speculation is rife that Noctor may be able to play some part and may even start.

This certainly would be a major fillip to Killybegs' prospect as the versatile Noctor turned in a man-of-the-match performance against Dungloe in the quarter-final when moved to curb the threat of Dungloe danger man Adrian Sweeney.

And if Proctor was fit to take his part from the beginning it could be all the more significant in light of news emerging form the Masters' camp that Shane Carr has a real fight on his hands to make it.

Given that Barry Monaghan is also a good bit off match fitness and is also unlikely feature from the start at least the unavailability of Carr would be a huge setback could swing the pendulum in favour of Division Two side.

Martin and Four Masters' Michael Doherty both scored seven points for their respective sides last Saturday's encounter and the weight of expectation for the bulk of the scores will once again rest both their shoulders.

The sides were level six times before Martin tied it up in the closing seconds from a '45' and Sunday evening's replay has all the ingredients of being another close encounter. A lot will hinge on who is fit to play and who is not and whether or not Noctor and Carr are able to take their places.

The winners of Sunday's replay face Naomh Conaill in the county final on the last weekend in the month.
