St Eunan’s College miss out on MacLarnon Cup final place
Conor O'Donnell and his St Eunan's teammates were out of luck today in their MacLarnon Cup semi-final
St Eunan’s College’s dreams of reaching a first MacLarnon Cup final since 2007 were dashed at McRory Park in Dunmoyle this afternoon as they lost out against St Michael’s from Lurgan in the semi-final
St Eunan’s 1-12
St Michael’s, Lurgan 1-15
The Letterkenny side were playing catch-up for the majority of the contest having conceded the first five points of the game, with John McGee in particularly outstanding out for the Armagh side.
Colm McFadden’s team got back into contest thanks to a 27th minute goal from Conor McEniff, which meant St Michael’s led 0-9 to 1-4 at the break. However, Ruairi Loughrane netted for St Michael’s on 40 minutes to give his side a 1-11 to 1-5 cushion.
Despite the best efforts and five points from Termon’s Daire McDaid, St Eunan’s missed out on a place in the St Patrick’s Day final against St Louis, Kilkeel, who defeated St Patrick’s, Downpatrick, at sunny Drumaness, Co Down, in the other semi-final played today.
