Harps confirm First Division license

Finn Harps have confirmed the club has been awarded a First Division licence for the 2013 season.

Harps Chairman Joey O’Leary said: “It is great to receive official confirmation that Finn Harps will once again be flying the flag for senior football in Donegal in 2013.

“It is something we never take for granted as everyone at the club is aware of the extensive preparatory work involved in obtaining a senior licence. I would once again like to thank all our volunteers for their hard work behind the scenes.”

Meanwhile the club have also confirmed that their sponsorship deal with Donegal Creameries has come to an end after five years. The club will announce a successor before the start of the new season on Sunday, March 3, against the Mayo League in the League Cup in Castlebar.

“We are obviously very sorry to lose Donegal Creameries as sponsors of Finn Harps after five mutually successful years,” O’Leary said. “The board, team management, players and our supporters, have enjoyed an excellent relationship with Donegal Creameries. We wish to thank them for their partnership and generous support over the years.

“Our staff have been in negotiations with a number of interested parties about the sponsorship of Finn Harps from 2013 onwards. We believe we have a very attractive brand that offers potential sponsors a highly visible presence across print, broadcast and online media. We are confident that we will be announcing a new sponsor at the end of this week.”
