Just before the Donegal v Cork game the famous Rory Gallagher statue in Ballyshannon was made a little bit more special when a Donegal jersey was deftly placed over the famous rock guitarist’s head.

For several days the world and his mother commented on the famous photo as the photo went around the world. Sadly, on the night before the big game someone decided to rip the jersey off the statue.

Now there is a big move on in the Erne town to get Rory kitted out again and we understand there are plans to get him a special jersey with a zip which will be removed at night time to ensure it isn’t vandalised, but as you can see from our photo, taken earlier today, Rory is getting just a little impatient!
