There were tremendous celebrations amongst the children, teachers and parents of Fintra National School at the Donegal Sports Star Awards where the school picked up the award for Best Sports Primary School.

The school was nominated by its parents in light of the very successful year it had last year. The children won the Cumann Na mBunscoil County Final in their division, two county final soccer blitzes organised by Finn Harps, Best Small School trophy from Killybegs Athletic Club, as well as fifteen medals from the inter-schools day at the Finn Valley Centre in May.

The school would like to thank their teachers as well as their hard working coaches, Joe Mc Brearty from Killybegs GAA club, John and Gavin Campbell of Finn Harps and Mary and Bernie O’Callaghan from Killybegs Athletic Club.

The children are thrilled that their commitment and dedication to sports has been recognised and would like to thank Paul McDaid of the Donegal Sports Star Awards for a great night in the Mount Errigal Hotel.
