Rosses Academy 1

Rovers continued to pile on the pressure as the Rosses goal came under seize while at the other end Jason Quinn had to be alert with a fine save from a rasping Luke Neely shot on the stroke of half-time.
The visitors did draw level seven minutes after the re-start. A free-kick from Adam Neely went straight through the Rovers defence and Hugh Boyle supplied a cool finish under pressure.
The contest was finely balanced at this stage but Rovers decisively went ahead midway through the half. A quick break saw McCloskey set-up Aaron Scanlon and the left winger powered home a superb low drive from the edge of the box beyond Danny Rodgers and into the net.
Rosses were rattled and fell further behind on 80 minutes. On this occasion, Scanlon was provider doing excellent work inside the penalty area before setting up substitute Jason Doherty who had the simple task of tapping the ball home into the empty net.
The game finished on a sour note for the visitors with the dismissal of Hugh Boyle for a straight red card.
