Eany U12s complete League and Cup Double
Eany Celtic U-12s
Eany Celtic U-12s are on top of the world this week after they completed a ‘League and ‘Cup’ double last weeeknd.
In a keenly contested final with neighbours Dunkineely Celic, it took second half goals from Conal McInaw and Darragh Griffin, to finally clinch the win for the Eany boys.
McInaw pounced for the first of the goals 15 minutes from the end when he got on the end of a Thomas White corner to cooly slot to the Dunkineely net.
And five minutes later the ‘Cup’ was on its way to Eany Park, when Griffin hammered home goal number two.
On his way to bagging the goal Griffin rounded two defenders before making no mistake from five metres, for his seventh goal of the season.
Overall, it was an entertaning contest and while the winners enjoyed the Lion’s share of the possession and the bulk of the scoring chances,
Dunkineely did have their chances too, and were a little unlucky not to end up with at least one goal to their name at he final whistle.
The win brings down the curtain on a great season for the Eany boys with both the League and the Cup sitting proudly in the Eany Park trophy cabinet.
