Michael Murphy and Karl Lacey are Donegal's two most popular tweeters
Three of Donegal’s All-Ireland winning footballers are among the top 10 in terms of #GAA #twitterfollowers.
Captain Michael Murphy, footballer of the year Karl Lacey and young player of the year nominee Paddy McBrearty have almost 50,000 combined followers on the social network, according to information compiled by Pembroke Communications.
Paul Galvin of Kerry is top of the charts with 45,157 followers, with Dublin’s Bernard Brogan second with 41,360. In third place overall is Murphy. @murphm95 has 20,059, while Darran O’Sullivan from Kerry and Dublin’s Alan Brogan complete the top five.
Galway’s Joe Canning had more followers than any other hurler and is in sixth place overall. Four Masters’ @karlLacey4 is in seventh with 15,360 followers. Former Cork hurling goalkeeper Donal Óg Cusack is eighth, one place ahead of Kilcar’s @PaddyMcBrearty, who is followed by 13,543 people. Cork footballer and former dual player Eoin Cadogan completes the top 10.
