The club held their AGM on Friday night last where a great turnout of around 50 members attending. The night got off to a charitable start with a presentation of a cheque for €360 to representatives from Solace Donegal Cancer Support from a recent Santa cycle on St Stephen’s day.

Chairperson Seanna Kane got the meeting underway with a brief summary of our inaugural year but as it turned out it was far from brief as the club had reached many milestones in its first year.

*123 members from kids to senior citizens both male & female.

*5 organized group spins a week, with a youth spin on a Saturday and 4 groups on a Sunday, the club have all abilities catered for.

*Club logo selected resulting in an initial order for club kit for €17,000 and a follow up order for winter gear. *Quiz night organized to raise much needed funds for hosting future events.

*First time team entry into the prestigious RAS Dun na NGall

*Junior entry in to the International youth tour.

*Club Kit launch & BBQ held at E&J Oil, Ballintra.

*Racing Summer league held over 13 weeks with riders attending from over 6 different clubs.

*Sprocket Rockets skills programme launched to help prepare children for safe cycling and future road use.

*Weekend away in Westport as a social get together taking in a cycle on the Great Western Greenway.

*Christmas Party night and prize giving in the Harbour Restaurant, Donegal Town.

*Youth spin Christmas lunch at Solis, Lough Eske Castle.

*Turbo Training classes launched for the Winter months.

*Santa Cycle on St Stephens day with refreshments afterwards.

The club thanked Liam Hyland for both support during the year and the sponsorship of the wine at the Christmas party night. Damien Reid was thanked for sponsoring the trophies for the prize giving night but seemed disappointed to learn the gesture would be of no benefit in any future cycling awards. Eddie & Bernie Mc Caffrey were thanked for the endless support they have given the club and for hosting the club kit launch at their home during the year. Eamon Mc Gill was thanked for hosting the after party for the Santa cycle in his home on St Stephens day. Without the support and generosity from members like this, the club would not have made the same progress in its first year.

Lynn Temple, acting as chairman for election of officers, praised them for all their efforts during the year. Without as much of a complaint or an objection the same top table were re-elected with a few new additions strengthening the committee. Its full steam ahead for 2013 with sportiffs and road racing to be added to this years events. The AGM concluded with a spread of home baking that we all have become accustomed to in this club, thank you to all the contributors and to the St John Bosco for the use of their venue. The AGM continued on to the Forge where more miles were put up and new routes were discovered.
