Donegal's Sean McVeigh in action against Roscommon in Letterkenny this year

Donegal hurler Sean McVeigh has been named as on the Nicky Rackard ‘Champion XV’ and will receive his award at next Friday’s GAA/GPA All-Stars Banquet in Dublin.

Twenty-two-year-old McVeigh was part of the Donegal side that defeated Monaghan and Roscommon to reach the Nicky Rackard semi-final, where they lost to Louth in Letterkenny.

McVeigh is a dual player with St Eunan’s senior footballers and will be part of the panel on Saturday as the Letterkenny club play Dungloe in the Ráidio na Gaeltachta SFC semi-final.

“I wasn’t really expecting the award but it’s nice to get it but it’s certainly nice to get it,” McVeigh said. McVeigh will join Donegal’s 12 footballing nominees at the awards night at the Convention Centre on Dublin on Friday, October 26th.
