Coleman to add to caps

Killybegs native Seamus Coleman is in line to win his 12th cap for the Republic of Ireland U-21s in Switzerland tomorrow night.
The 21-year-old has been included in the 18-man squad for the double-header of fixtures this coming week. After their Swiss appointment, Ireland will then face Turkey away on Tuesday in their final group game.
The side can no longer qualify for the European Championship finals in Denmark next year and will be without manager Noel King for the upcoming games as he is managing the Womens’ Under-17 squad at the World Cup finals. FAI International high performance director Wim Koevermans will oversee the squad in King’s absence.
Coleman made his first Premier League appearance of the new season for Everton against Aston Villa on Sunday at Villa Park.
The former Sligo Rovers defender was introduced by manager David Moyes for the final 20 minutes as a substitute for Jack Rodwell, but despite a fine performance from the Merseysiders in a game they created numerous chances in, it was Villa who won 1-0 thanks to Luke Young’s ninth minute goal.
