Carnival Ballyshannon, the finale event of Donegal Bay & Blue Stacks Festival, this year finds inspiration in the ancient Celtic sea voyager tales or ‘imram. The theme this year is Imram Bran or The Voyage of Bran, a mythical celtic adventurer.
The magic and fantasy of The Voyage of Bran will be brought to life on the streets of Ballyshannon through the artistic vision of LUXe, with their specially designed illuminated props, costumes and sounds. Colour and glow of exotic costumes and props will be supported by Workhouse Studios Easkey, Inishowen Carnival Group, Fire Performers Realta and Streetwise comic characters.
They will be joined by local youth and adult performers who have participated in the Carnival Workshop programme facilitated by, among others, local director Maura Logue and local facilitators Fiona Marie Fitzpatrick and Niamh Currid.
