A limited number of places are still available on the Back to Education Initiative (BTEI) programme for Adults which will commence in the Adult Education Centre, Ballyshannon in September 2013. The modules taught will include Computer Literacy, Internet Skills, Word Processing, Keyboarding Skills, Communications and Maths.

End of Season Fly Fishing Competition

Kinlough and District Anglers Association is holding an End of Season Fly Fishing Competition on Saturday September 21st at Breffni Pier from 11am to 5pm.

There will be lots of prizes! The winner of the competition will be presented with the Linehan Perpetual Cup. Barbecue afterwards at the Pier. Entry Fee €20 (per angler).

Proceeds from the competition will be donated to charity.

Starting on Tue 17th of September there will be morning yoga classes in the School House suitable for all ages those interested should contact Catherine on 0879920284.

“Gaelic for mothers and others”

Congratulations to the Melvin Gaels, Gaelic for Mothers & others team who have been selected to play an exhibition game during half time at the ladies football final in Croke Park on Sunday 29th September. This is a fantastic achievement as 23 teams from all over Ireland were involved in the competition. The team has been together three years, and are the only Gaelic for mothers team in Leitrim. New members are always welcome and training is on a Wednesday evening at 7 pm. A supporters bus to the game is being organised for anyone who wishes to travel to Croke Park on the day with the girls. Coffee Mornings in Aid of North West Hospice

There will be Coffee Mornings in Aid of North West Hospice held in the Old School, Main Street, Kinlough on Thursday September 19th and Friday 20th September from 9.30am to 2.30pm each day.

Spoken Irish

“Spoken Irish” classes continue in Kinlough Community Centre from Tuesday September 10th at 8pm.

The Gathering- Arroo Mountain Walk

Anyone who registered and did the Mountain Walk to the top of Arroo Mountain on the Sunday afternoon of the Gathering Weekend has been issued with a Certificate in recognition of this feat. Please call to Noel Mc Gowan, Spar, Kinlough and collect your Certificate.

Irish Dancing

The Farragher School of Irish Dancing is resuming in Kinlough Community Centre on Thursday September 12th at 6.30pm. Beginners welcome.

Harvest Fair

A Night for Lydia Warnock

Tribute Night for local girl Lydia Warnock, winner of the prestigious and coveted title of Senior All Ireland Fiddle at the recent All Ireland Fleadh Ceol takes place on 21st September at 8.30 p.m. in Kinlough Community Centre. Music by Assaroe Ceili Band with admission of €5 for adults and children are free. Refreshments will be served. Everyone welcome for a great night of music, celebration and dancing.
