‘The Past in the Present’: As part of the Bealtaine Festival 2013, which will run throughout the month of May, Caroline Carr from Donegal County Museum and Niamh Brennan, County Archivist will bring objects from their collections to Raphoe Family Resource Centre at 11am on Monday, 27th May. The event is free.

‘Baby and Me’ Event: Lagan Primary Care Team are hosting a One Day ‘Showcase’, for mothers, fathers and parents in Manorcunningham Resource Centre on Wednesday from 10am to 12.30pm. Entry is free. There will be spot prizes on the day.

ASIST Training: The Family Resource Centre will this year again host the ASIST two-day skills-building training on Wednesday, July 3rd and Thursday 4th from 9.30am-4.30pm on both days.

Raphoe 5k: On Tuesday, 16th July at 7.30pm the Family Resource Centre will hold its 3rd Annual 5k race in association with Lifford AC and Donegal Co. Athletics Board.

Healthy Walks: If you are in and around Raphoe and would like to keep fit, join us on our Healthy walk every Thursday morning at 9.30 a.m. The group meets in Raphoe Family Resource Centre. Everyone welcome.

Women’s Group: The next meeting is on Monday, 27th May at 8pm.

Tea/Coffee evening: You are invited to a Tea/Coffee evening including Cake Sale, Bottle Stall, Car Boot Sale, with special guest Micky & Minnie Mouse. Proceeds in aid of Good and New Care for Cancer Patients. It takes place on Friday, May 17th at 7pm at the Black Memorial Hall Letterkenny Road, Convoy. Everyone welcome. The Broken Covenant By Jonathan Burgess: The Broken Covenant, tells the story of John Campbell and his family – an ordinary farming family. The setting is Donegal and the year is 1924, a few short years after the partition of Ireland. The play will be followed by a facilitated workshop. It will be staged at Raphoe Orange Hall for two performances on Friday, May 24th at 1.30pm (schools) and 8pm. Free admission.

Raphoe Boxing Club: Caroline Connolly will travel to Greater Manchester on Friday with coach Stephen McBride to take part in a major boxing tournament and everyone at the club extend best wishes to them for a very successful weekend.

A very special thanks goes to Cllr Frank Mc Brearty and Cllr. Cora Harvey for their generous donation from the Councillors Development Fund which will go towards the painting of the outside of the clubhouse.

On Friday night last club boxers Charlie Mc Donagh, Orin Kelly, Tony Stokes and Gerard Crawford were in action at a tournament in Dungiven and Orin, Tony and Gerard all had convincing points wins whilst Charlie narrowly lost out on a split point decision.

On Friday next Cody Lafferty, Oran Devine and Denis Lafferty will all be in action at a tournament in Newtownstewart.
